We are back adn forth between 2 set of nursery furniture. One set is a crib, tall dresser and a changing table. The other set is a crib and a big, long dresser (lots of storage space). For DS we just had a changing pad on top fo the long dresser and it was fine.
The nursery furniture will stay in the nursery (hope to have one more after this one), so I'm not concerned about how it will transition. It just looks like it would be hard to change the baby as it gets bigger on a changing table b/c of limited space.... and maybe a pain with wipes etc (we had all of this stuff on the dresser).
Thoughts? We have to get either one set or the other (buying "gently used" from one of two friends).
Re: If you had a changing table, did you use it?
Yes we used our chaning table all the time. But it was a dresser/changing table combo. We aren't "change the baby on the couch or floor" kind of people, so we almost always went in her room to change her. We used it until we moved her into her big girl room just a few weeks ago, so over 2 years.
yes - we have a changing table in DS's room and still use it (he is 2)... he's really good about staying on it- and it makes changing him much easier on our backs.
in the twin's room we are using the top of a dresser with a pad - b/c we had one that fit and matched already.
DS's changing table we got super cheap on craigslist - it's cherry wood so goes well with the rest of his furniture- and when he's truly outgrown it- we'll just get a dresser for that spot.
I used mine, and plan on getting another for the next DC. I'm going to get a dresser with the changing table on top though since those will be the only two pieces of furniture I will need.
Also, I plan on buying mine from CL...much cheaper that way.
