3rd Trimester

When did your baby start wedging themself in your ribs?

I feel like mine is going to start doing it soon. . .S/he is already right up there and enjoys rubbing against the bottom of them. . .

ETA: Themself isn't a word, is it?

  • I've never really had this...all the movement I've felt has been low (she has been low though my entire pregnancy).  I hope your LO drops soon and you get som relief!

  • It was superbowl Sunday... He's been there up until a week ago when he dropped. It was always the right rib, never the left and he didn't really ever move. I would push my hand against his foot and try to move it, it would help for a little bit.

  • Just a few days ago. She is really stubborn about getting out of there too.

And I think it is themselves :)

  • she goes in and out everyday.

during the day, it feels like her toes are playing with my ribs and when i get home at night, she prefers to stretch (or do splits i can't tell the difference) from my left to my right side.

  • i think 3 weeks ago...?  its not consitent though and i can usually get her to move- sure is uncomfortable huh?!
  • She started doing it in the last week. It is uncomfortable!
  • I woke up with some serious rib pain on my right side in the middle of the night. Went for u/s today. Sure enough he is head down and his feet were aimed for the right side of my ribs. I guess as long as he's head down I can deal, but I'm not sure he'll stay that way just yet.

  • A few weeks ago, but today and yesterday I've had a quite a bit of relief from the foot in rib syndrome. I'm hoping that's a sign baby has dropped more.?
  • This pg....this LO is real low...I feel more kicking at my hips than anything else.  (and I do have a short torso)

Michaela dropped a week ago but I know of people who were 39 weeks and still hadn't dropped. My MW said I was a bit early.?

  • The past week or so.  I've had rib pain since 16w, so apparently my organs have been up there for ages.  But just in the past week have I felt movement under my ribs.  It sucks ass.  Especially since my rib pain is all right sided and of course that's the side he's insisted on sticking his big f'ing noggin in...

  • She was really low for a long time... but then at about 25 weeks- she moved up into my ribs... At about 32 weeks- she started to "drop"... and it has got worse as the weeks go by... LoL. Damn kid stretches out and puts her butt/hips? in my ribs and then she pushed down and out on my bladder! Lovely- Hahahahaha- LoL
  • A few weeks ago... I don't know.  I guess I've kinda gotten used to the stabbing pain in my lower right ribs and figure it isn't going to go away until she drops and/or I deliver.

Oh, and I know she's head down and facing my left, so it's her rear end that's jammed up into my ribs.

  • At about 27 weeks, and it has only started to get better.
  • I had excruiating rib pain from 12 weeks - 27 weeks (it obviously wasn't my baby wedged up in there but my organs that moved up) - it was seriously unbearable!!!  Then once I hit my 3rd trimester it completely went away...maybe my ribs are stretched to compacity I have no idea...but there was a point when I thought she was going to break my ribs...NOT FUN!!

  • Mine just did this for the first time last Friday.  I read a trick online that says to raise your arm above your head (the arm on the side where the foot is wedged) while inhaling.  Then exhale while you lower your arm.  This seemed to work.
