Ok, ignore my pp. Which side should I put the carseat on?

I'm rewriting my whole post.

Is it ok to put the convertible seat behind the drivers seat?

To Summarize:

I have an 04 Mazda3

I have a Britax Roundabout

DH can't fit in the car w/the seat on the passenger side or in the center.

Manual does not indicate which side, if any, is best.

carseatdata.org does not have any entries for my model year and specific seat.

  • Not all car seats, nor all cars, are meant to use the teather in the RF position, so I'd double check that you should use it at all. When we just had one child, we kept the seat in the middle, which is the safest position unless your car manual specifically says it shouldn't go in the middle.

The Britax manual says to use it when RF, w/a tether anchor point on the floor.

  • Carseatdata.org has a whole carseat/car compatability search, and they tell you what seat in the car is safest using a certain type of restraint whether it be LATCH, tethers, seatbelt etc....not sure if this answers your question because car seat information kind of makes me go cross-eyed.....
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • center of the car is always the safest for placement of carseats
