Trouble TTC

-:- 3T Weekly Check-In -:-

Welcome to the weekly check-in!

Reply to this post if you would like your information updated.  Please post an update at least monthly so I know you are still active - even if your info hasn't changed.  You will be removed if you go more than four weeks without posting.

If you would like to be added or updated, please answer the questions below:

1. What is your name (if you want to share)?
2. When did you start TTC (month/year)?
3. What is your diagnosis (if you have one)?
4. What treatments are you doing?

For everyone who is up to date on the above, where are you in your current cycle and how's it going?

If you are finally getting your BFP, please PM me so I don't miss it!  Also this helps me avoid posting an ambiguous BFP if you're not ready to officially call it.

QOTW: Are you usually early, or late?

  • 1. What is your name (if you want to share)? Shannon
    2. When did you start TTC (month/year)? November, 2013
    3. What is your diagnosis (if you have one)? Chemotherapy induced infertility
    4. What treatments are you doing? Stimming for IUI # 1

Treatments are going well, injections don't  hurt a bit. I have 1 follicle on the left at 12.8, and a few on the right (5-6 mm). Hoping to trigger this week before IUI #1.

I am always early- thanks to my mother for teaching me that!

  • Hey there!  I am currently on cycle day 5 and almost done with this month's Clomid supply (yay).  I have a mid-cycle us scheduled for next Saturday so I am expecting IUI #2 on 7/29 or 7/30.

QOTW: I am always early for everything.  Like, awkwardly early.  I am always the first person to arrive at a party and wind up standing around drinking uncomfortably while waiting for everyone else to show up.

Nothing new to add on the TTC side of things..

But my QOTW - Both DH & I are always early.. also awkwardly early (like @kmdecoux said).  Recently we were told party was starting at 7.  We showed up early and sat out in the car for a bit because no one else was there.  When we walked in at 7:10 we were greeted with "OMG you guys are always SO early!"  Really?

  • CD 28...no AF symptoms but my last three cycles have been 29-31 days. I suppose I should test but I know it will be a BFN and I can't bring myself to do it.

QOTW: I'm a Punctual Polly. Always right on time or a few minutes early. People being late is kind of a pet peeve of mine.

I finally started a period after taking prometrium so I'm happy about that! I go for CD 3 testing/monitoring tomorrow and am doing a femara with TI or IUI (not sure yet) along with a HSG this cycle. I hope everything comes back from the hsg well and the femara makes me ovulate!

Qotw: I'm always early but if my DH is coming with me sometimes he makes me late! He always forgets something before we leave!

    ***CP mentioned***

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

     ****All Welcome!****

  • I'm on CD 10 and still waiting for all of my test results to trickle in. I had blood work and an ultrasound last Monday and an HSG on Thursday. So far, my FSH and Estradiol have come back normal, but my TSH came back high (8.02) and I was prescribed levothyroxine. Also, the radiologist couldn't tell if my left tube was open during my HSG.

Once my RE gets all of the results, we'll set up a consult to come up with a plan. My guess is that we probably won't move forward with any treatment until my thyroid levels are under control.

QOTW: I'm always early. I get really anxious if I'm going to be late somewhere, even if it's a party or something that I don't really need to be on time for.

  • CD4 here & getting ready for IUI lucky #3. QOTW: I'm always early or right on time. Sometimes awkwardly early as well, but I'm just a nervous wreck when I'm running late! But in my defense when something starts at 7 & I show up at 7:15 I shouldn't be awkwardly early, right?! Apparently everybody else knows something I don't...

  • Howdy ladies! Hugs to those who need them and GL to all those in the TWW. I am on CD8 so amazing not taking clomid this cycle! This is (I assume) going to just be a natural cycle which has been a while for me. Finally meeting with an RE next Thursday (31st). So just kind of relaxing and taking it easy. We finally had a very nice Non baby making sex session and it was fabulous this cycle i think really needed to happen. The last few months have taken its toll on us. With each disappointment and all the hormones it nice to just have fun and not worry about wasting a medicated cycle with the pressure! So I'm just going to enjoy my stress free cycle before we hit the big guns in a couple weeks!

  • Moving on to IVF here, unless some natural miracle happens first! Had our consult with the new RE last week, now just waiting to hear back from our nurse if we can cycle in September or if we need to push it back. I intro'd on IF this weekend, so will probably be a little quieter around here but will definitely still be rooting for all of you and hoping none of you have to follow me down the IVF road! QOTW: I try to be early but am always running behind (I blame DH often) which equates to me being right on time...60% of the time, it works every time! ;)

    July 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD3-7.  Ultrasound CD12 - 4 mature follies! HCG trigger shot CD12 AM.  IUI#3 on CD13 w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW ....BFN
July 2014 - Repeat ultrasound done to measure size of fibroid - 8x9cm (the size of a grapefruit!) Surgery referral made.
August 2014 - MRI done which revealed 2 fibroids: a 13x15cm fibroid as well as an 8x7cm one.  Super freak out mode over surgery plan.  OB-GYN/surgeon said surgery would most likely have to be a laparotomy (open abdominal surgery)
August 2014 - After a 2nd opinion, plan to take Lupron x 2 months to shrink fibroids then laparoscopic/robotic myomectomy.  Surgery date is set for Nov 21st!
November 2014 - Robotic myomectomy done (2 large fibroids removed, mild endo found).  Benched x 3 months

  • I am incredibly late with the check-in...oops!

I am on CD 17 and I am completely confused about how things are going - I posted about this over the weekend, so I apologize that I am repeating myself.  I just finished all of my testing.  I had my saline u/s done on Tuesday (CD11) with no discomfort.  I started spotting on Wednesday night, which my nurse said is normal.  Thursday and Friday, that spotting was a little heavier, but not period-like bleeding.  From Saturday through this morning, it has gotten somewhat heavier and redder, but still not what I would consider period-like bleeding.  I'm going to call my doctor today to figure out if I should be concerned or not.  I feel fine, so I'm hoping this is just an annoying occurrence, perhaps the lightest and earliest period EVER, or what.

Otherwise, we've got our appointment to review all our testing on August 12.  We just have to get my husband's SA done.  It WAS scheduled for tomorrow morning, because he was out of town this weekend so we were forced to abstain and thought the timing would work out.  Well....he came home last night and we now have to reschedule it.  This three day abstention rule is not a fun thing!  It is getting in the way of my fun!

The abstaining rule is no fun! I hope you get it scheduled soon and all your results come back great!

Update on me: just had cd 3 appointment and am starting femara this cycle as well as doing my HSG. We decided to try one TI cycle since my DH wants to and I really want him to feel like his opinion matters since so much of this is about me (unfortunately). So I start the femara today and I'm actually really excited! Hopefully my HSG results come back good!

We are waiting for the RE appointment. While we wait, my GYN put me on a 3rd round of Clomid (100mg). We have the consult in 3 weeks as well as an US (same day).

I'm usually early (teacher). When I met my husband his was incredibly late ALL the time. He was 1 hour late (held up at work) to our first date. 6 years later he's on "teacher time" as I call it.

  • Hello! I guess I haven't joined this check in yet, so please add me!

Sadly, I'm usually late. I live in SoCal (LA area), and traffic here is usually insane and unpredictable.

@bluejoan, that really fracking sucks. They didn't even explain why the wait was so long? That's effed up.

I'm sorry for your loss, @emilee871.

For everyone who is up to date on the above, where are you in your current cycle and how's it going?
We just did IUI # 2 on Friday. IUI # 1 worked, but it ended in a C/P. FX that this one works and sticks.

QOTW: Are you usually early, or late?
Depends. For work, I'm right on time. For larger social things that I don't really want to go to, I'll be late (if it's not going to affect anyone else). For social things that are important, I'll be there a little too early. Then I'll drive off just a little way (out of sight) to check my phone to make sure I have the right date/time/place.

  • @murrt - I would have the HSG done first.  Not only can it show if your tubes are open, it can also potentially show if there is any abnormality in your ute.  I think that the more information you have, the more informed decisions you can make about your course of treatment.  I'm sorry that timing is delaying everything.

  • @murrt I'm glad your consult went well. I too would have the HSG done first. That's what happened with me, my OB wanted to start clomid without any testing and I just wasn't willing to go through treatments without knowing if the egg could even get where it needed to go. I have my HSG scheduled for Monday actually. I do understand that it's a lot of upfront cost but I'd hate to spend 1000 on a cycle and find out it didn't even have a chance of working because I had a blocked tube.

Do you have any insurance? My insurance "negotiates " with providers and for some things even if it isn't covered they can get a discount. So, maybe call and ask what they might be able to do to help? Also ask about the genetic testing because I think that is expensive also and may not be covered.

    Good luck!

  • IUI #2 was yesterday. I was hopeful, because I had 4 nice sizes follicles on u/s day, but my husband's sample was only 3 million and 900,000 post wash. I am not sure yet what our plan is going to be moving forward.

I am usually running late for work (like 2-5 minutes late). I have a 50  minute commute though, so there are usually a lot of weather/traffic factors that are out of my control. For fun stuff, I am usually on time though :)

I have a couple (newbie) questions but didn't want to bother you all with another thread so I will ask them here! Also, it seems lots have had a rough start to the week so (hugs!)

I had my cd 3 monitoring appointment yesterday and everything came back good. I am not sure yet about this RE's office; it doesn't seem like they are organized and I feel like they are pushing the more expensive treatments. One nurse asked me if I wanted to do IVF!? I mean I am not opposed to aggressive treatments if necessary but I feel like it's not the first thing that is usually done.

I also didn't even see the doctor, only the nurses. I was going to ask to speak to the dr but I have my HSG Monday so I know for sure I will see him then and figured I'd just go over my questions then. Anyway, I feel like I have to know what's going on and tell them what I want to do so that is why I have these questions for you!

    1. Is a trigger always done with femara? I know it helps to see exactly when you will O but I just wondered if there was any negatives to not doing it? Will I still O without it?

    2. Are progesterone/crinone always needed also? I have only O'd 2x since stopping the pill but each time I had a 16 day lp. I was just wondering since it is very expensive. If it is necessary is there a less expensive alternative? I took prometrium before and it was covered with insurance but I'm not sure yet if crinone is.

Thank you all for helping me with all my newbie questions! You're all great!
