Ok-- DH and I are thinking waaaay ahead, but he wants the next child's name chosen in advance. I love the name Wesley Joseph.
DH thinks the name Wesley sounds "wuss-like", and thinks people may call him "Wussley".
All I could do was laugh.
Anyways-- what do you think of the name? We already have our girl name chosen, but if I can convince DH that Wesley is a cool name, then we're golden.
Re: The name Wesley
What's your girl name?
Wessley is ok. But it sounds like your DH isn't into it.
I always think of the princess bride when I hear that name, but it is NNS. I don't think that is wuss like.
Wait, Westley? What was the hot dude's name in that movie?
The girls name is complicated. We wanted a Polish first name (DH is Polish), and a Spanish middle name (I'm 1/2 Spanish):
Zophia Gabrielle
Never heard Zophia before!
Meaning: Its source is a Greek expression meaning "Wisdom."
Languages: This girl's name is used in Polish.
I like it.
But then again, I named my kid "Charles"
The Pricess Bride is the first thing I thought of too!
Thanks. ; ) Even though I like it though, I think DH will totally not agree, so off on a search!
McLovin- DH chose Zophia. We have a Polish baby name book here, and he fell in love with it. I like it too. It's really cute.
Just like Italian people use Sophia instead.
I don't think ppl will call him Wussley. I didn't even think of that when I read the name!
Honestly, what I thought about was a kid named Wesley that I know. He is a bad kid, so I have a bad associations with the name. I'm a sub. teacher, that's how I know the kid. I have never heard the other kids make fun of his name at all.
However, I think it is a nice name if you want to use it for your child.
Don't feel weird about picking out your next child's name. I already think about it and we don't want another child until DS is 3 or 4! If we have a girl, we are probably going to go with Leah (that's what DS would have been if he were a girl). Right now I am thinking about Evan if we have another boy. Although I am on the fence about it b/c my sister's nephew (her DH's brother's kid) is named Evan. I think it might be confusing to have 2 Evans (even if it isn't the same side of the family). I like the way Owen and Evan sound together though!
I also like Evan, but like you, I know a bad person with that name and always think of him when I hear it. Regardless, it's cute with Owen.
Great choice!
I agree.?
