Friend has high testosterone levels -questions

Hi All,

 My friend is in the pre-TTC stage and knows her AF is not regular and she has long cycles.  She has started charting and is pretty sure that she is not ovulation.  She also just had some blood work done (through her regular doctor, not ob/gyn) and it came back that she has a significantly elevated testosterone level.  What does this mean?  Any info to share?

    My guess would be that she has PCOS.  I think it's pretty common for women with PCOS to have elevated male hormones.  They'll probably put her on Metformin and give her some Clomid to ovulate.

    ditto PCOS -- though I wonder if its she has high androgens?

    I have PCOS, barely ever got/get a period. We ended up doing IVF but not all people with PCOS have to go that route.

    I would say PCOS.  My suggestions would be for her to see an endocronologist.  PCOS can have a really wide range of symptoms.
