Help Me!

My son screams every time I put him down.  He will only nap during the day if someone is holding him.  I need to teach him how to sleep in a crib or pack and play for daytime naps.  How do I do this?  I really can't hold him from 7:00am until 11:00pm.

It's tough at that age, I know. ?Have you tried using a sling/wrap? ?I used a Moby wrap a lot at that age! ?It allowed him to sleep well and me to be able to use my hands. ?I slowly started getting him to sleep in his bassinet a little time after that... ?Good luck!

This is tough because he is so young he most likely prefers your touch and being cuddled.  Have you given swaddling a try?  Wrapping him up tightly and then rocking him a bit before lying him down might help.  It could give him the security of a snuggly environment similar to being held in your arms.

I know this isnt going to solve your problem but do you have a sling,wrap or mei tai carrier? At least them if you have to carry him you have you hands free to do other things for a while.

Get a swaddle me blanket and have you tried putting him in the swing at first?

DS was like this also. Babies his age want to be held constantly. I would try swaddling him tightly and white noise. If that doesnt work I would definetly invest in some sort of sling. He will eventually learn to be a little more independent.GL!

DS is the same way (still... at 2 + months). If he's napping I can sneak him into the Moby (which he finally started accepting last week). He's napping in there right now. At least I have my hands free for a little while. He just loves to be held. At least if I'm wearing him I can get something done and snuggle him at the same time.
