I am making home made ice cream right now.

I decided at 10:00 last night I needed to have my own ice cream maker. I didnt know I had to freeze the thing for like 24 hours. Sigh.

But today, it is ON. I made some strawberry low fat ice cream earlier and now I am making some chocolate chip full fat deliciousness for MH and Ian.

I am going to ask a dumb question..what ingredients do you use to make icecream? Cream? sugar? Not really sure. It sounds soo yummy though.

How long does it take to make? I wonder if it will taste better than store icecream?

Well, the stuff I made for myself was 1 cup of organic skim (organic apparently is thicker than non organic), 1 cup of strawberries- pureed, a tsp of vanilla and some Splenda for added sweetness. It made 2 cups and is 3 points for the whole.dang.thing.

For MH's chocolate chip that I am making, there are tons of variations, but I am using 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, a cup of whole milk, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tsp of vanilla and when it is almost done I will add some fudge sauce.

It takes about 30 minutes in the maker, and you can stick in in the freezer if it is too soft.

I am super jealous!! My dad makes homemade ice cream for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas and it is heaven!
