Going off metformin at 12 weeks

has anyone had to do this?  I am sort of freaked by it, but the dr said that it will be fine.

  • that's when I went off.  I had no issues.

  • My RE had me go off as soon as I got my BFP confirmed with a beta (12dpo) and I had no problems.
  • I went off at 14 weeks with no problems.
  • I went off at 8 weeks.  No issues at all! You'll be great! Look at it this way...one less horse pill to take!
  • I did. My ob did a glucose test at 14 weeks and said I was fine to stop then.  It had no effect on me.
  • That's when I will be going off and I'm actually excited to stop taking those big ol' horse pills.

  • I actually went off before that.  I was expecting to be on it till 12 weeks but the RE took me off of it at 8 weeks.  Everything was just fine.
  • My OB was conservative and took me off at 12 weeks but immediatly put me on gestational diabetes treatments. I did the 4 finger pricks a day and followed the deit for the remainder of the pregnancy and it worked perfectly.

  • I just posted this the other day. I took my last dose on Monday (at 12 weeks) as per my OB and was freaked out. I emailed my RE to confirm that it was okay and I just got a response saying that there are many schools of thoughts on when to stop but all end up with the baby being fine, so to go ahead and stop taking it.
