When did you stop taking Metformin?

If you were on Metformin, when did you stop taking it? My OB said to stop at 12 weeks, so I took my last dose on Monday. But of course stopping anything makes me nervous.

I don't know but I'm anxious to hear. I haven't stopped yet and my RE said my OB would be the one to decide and I haven't even been released yet!

I stopped around 13 weeks. I was on 1500 mg and slowly weaned off. Per my own advice : ) Trust me, you will be happy to be without it. I know it is scary though - I got off PIO, estrace, and the met all at the same time.

I weaned myself from it. I had asked my RE and he said to ask my OB. I started on 1,000mg and at about 8 weeks went down to 500mg and then stopped at 12 weeks...I never asked my OB because I totally forgot at my appointment. I wasn't as nervous to come off it because when I got pregnant with DS I was never on it. So I was hoping that with this pregnancy I would be fine when I went off it, and so far so good.

i didnt stop it until after my glucose testing! my ob left it up to me...he said people take it throughout pg now. i started gaining weight when i stopped it though...like packed it on! so be careful!

I haven't yet. My RE is leaving it up to my OB, I'll see the OB tomorrow for the first time. My RE did state he likes it at least for 12 weeks. So we'll see.

Hmmm...thanks for the warning! I was only on it for 4 months though, and it didn't make me lose any weight so hopefully I won't be too effected by stopping it!

I took it until I was 24 weeks pg with my daughter. ?I only stopped because my OB told me it would skew the glucose test results. ?It was comforting for me to take those little while pills everyday.

I might keep taking them throughout this pregnancy. ?I hate the side effects of going back on it so we'll see.?

My RE told me when I started taking it that I was to stop the day I got a BFP. I wish I had asked why, but I didn't. So, yeah, I stopped at 12dpo.

I'm on it for the entire pregnancy. That was my RE's last advice.

I was also told to stop at 12 weeks, along with the Prometrium and Dexamethasone. I'm honestly excited and anxious to stop these pills because taking so much medicine makes me nervous! My doctor told me that the placenta taks over at around 10 weeks so don't worry, your body is doing its thing naturally.
