First pp period?

We are FF and I've just started back on the pill.  I had not had a true period after my pregnancy until I started the pill and now it's been very heavy with clots (sorry if tmi) and painful cramps for nearly 2 weeks!!  Is this normal?  Before the pregnancy, I was very regular with a coupld of heavy days and then light for a couple more days...I expected the first one to be a little different but had no idea it would be this long and heavy   Thanks!

My doc told me the first couple could be a lot heavier but would eventually get back to normal
