I am PISSED. My beta is schedule for this Monday, which is 15dp3dt (which, yes is 18 dpo). I wanted to move it to Friday. I'm not feeling to incredibly hopeful, so just thought I'd like the weekend to recooperate from bad news.
I called and told them I was spotting, pretty heavily. (The truth is I've had brownish spotting since Sun night that has all but disappeared, and one instance of pink spotting today).
Of course, my RE and the other 2 "main" REs are OOT. WTF. So the doc on duty said no to doing an early beta. She said if I was a 5dt transfer she would, but since I'm a 3dt she won't. THis all was relayed through the secretary who couldn't tell me WHY the difference.
I am pissed.
Re: WTF! They won't move my beta
if they don't let you do it early, will you POAS over the weekend?
I'm hoping the spotting is a good sign...
I don't know what they'd do if I just showed up. It's not really conducive to their organization system though...meaning if I showed up announced no one would be able to find my chart.
And yes, with my RE a beta is mandatory, bleeding or no.
I think I'm just going to take off Friday and test at home with a digital. Then, keep the damn beta on the damn day they want it, but at least I'll know what the verdict will be.
I hope the spotting stops and you get a BFP.
ugh, that sucks, but i'm glad to hear the spotting seems to be tapering off!
as for 3dt vs 5dt, I think it's because you would likely have higher hCG levels if you were at 15dp5dt versus 15dp3dt. Embryos usually implant 1-5 days after a 5dt or 2-7 days after a 3dt, and then it takes a couple of days for the hCG to kick in, so it might be a little early to get a good number for a 3dt.
my clinic does all IVF betas 17dpER (doesn't depend on transfer date).
hang in there and good luck!!
