Recommend your double stroller

I have been trying to find a double stroller to use from they day we bring the twins home until they are much bigger (how big, I'm not sure).

We already have carseats that do not connect to a stroller.  It was a sacrifice we had to make for such a great deal on carseats that will last from the day we bring them home until 70lbs.

All the nice double strollers that are light and fold up small don't seem to offer an infant carrier or say if they can hold an infant at all.

Any suggestions??

Re: Recommend your double stroller

  • I just got my BOB Revolution Duallie 12"AW and can honestly say I'm in love :) We'll use it until the boys can read and write for sure :)

(You can buy a car seat adaptor for it, but it only accomodates one)?

  • Any stroller with a full recline can work from newborn to the weight limit on the stroller. Unfortunately, that feature is usually found in the bulkier strollers. Most of the smaller, umbrella style doubles don't have a great recline. They often have sling type seats, which are harder for small babies to ride in because they don't have great neck strength or head control.

What is your budget? What is the most important feature for you? Most twin moms will tell you that they end up with at least 2 strollers (for some, many more!) because one stroller doesn't exist that works well for all situations.

  • We have the combi twin savvy and have used it since the girls were infants.  The seat reclines fully and has a piece that comes up and folds around the kiddo cupholder to make sure the babies don't fall out the bottom.  It has a great seat belt.  When the girls were really really little we used those head support things that you can buy at bru (that you can also use in car seats) for the girls to lay in.  I can honestly say we have had no problems with our combi and other than our jogger that I use for running around the neighborhood, on trails and in races, this is the only stroller we have had (my girls are 3).
  • What do you plan to use it for mostly? Walks around the neighborhood? Zoo/Park? Mall? Daycare drop off??

We do a lot of all of those so I have 2 (and love them both): Bumbleride Indie Twin (Longer excursions, walks around the neighborhood) and City Mini Double (Mall, daycare dropoff). I keep the City Mini in the car, since it folds really small and it is *relatively* light. But it is not as comfortable as the Bumbleride, because the back is soft, so we use the Bumbleride for walks, and we are bringing it with us to DC in 2 weeks where we are going to go out to many places like museums, zoo, etc.?

  • Thanks for the suggestions!  I'm not sure for a budget on a stroller since I see it as a fairly important item.  We are lucky enough to have cribs, etc from family members who have children so we are saving there.  I will probably end up getting 2 strollers but I was trying to avoid that. I would like to put one stroller on my registry, probably a less expensive one that multiple people could go in on.

We live in a walkable area with shopping and parks all around.  I would like to start running again once the doc gives me the OK.  I also wanted something simple to keep in the trunk for doctor's visits, family events, etc.  We will also be traveling overseas a couple times a year to visit family and also get the twins adjusted to travel in different countries (my bf is from England) so a very compact stroller (when folded) would be perfect!

  • I can't comment on the infant carrier thing but the woman I bought my double snap n go from was raving about her twin combi, especially the fact that it folds side to side instead of top-down (if that makes sense), because she said it takes up way less room in their car.
