When did you learn the sexes?

At my first MFM appointment I'll be 14w3d. I know they do very extensive ultrasounds at this appointment and was wondering if they'd be able to tell the babies' sexes yet or if it would still be too early. Thoughts?

  • I found out at 15 weeks & it was obvious they were both boys.
  • 16 weeks
  • i can't really speak with authority since we didn't ever find out, but i do remember at my first big u/s with my mfm at 16 weeks, he and the u/s tech were arguing over what they thought the sexes were. and they were boys, so it should have been clear! so i guess you can't really know for sure until later. (at my next u/s at 20 weeks, i'm pretty sure the u/s tech figured it out for sure. i should hope so!)

  • At 16 weeks(Christmas Eve), they didn't even try to find out at the scan.

    Melissa :)?

  • I think it was 16-18 weeks. Not sure of the exact time (bad mommy) but it was at our big growth scan with our MFM.
  • Found out at 18 weeks.
  • We found out at 16 weeks that baby B is a boy, but baby A was not cooperating.  We found out at 20 weeks that baby A is a girl.
  • 11w1d. No lie. The scan was done by my peri, and he has a really, really fancy u/s machine. I didn't start shopping until it was confirmed at 16w1d, though!

We were given pretty confident guesses that they were both girls at our NT scan at 12w6d.  This was confirmed 4 weeks later at our next u/s.

  • The u/s tech said at 16 weeks that she was 70% sure they were both boys.  We got confirmation at our 21 week appointment.  GL :-)

  • We were able to tell what two of the babies were at 16 weeks, and 18 we comfirmed all three.
  • we found out at our 14 week u/s
  • They guessed at my appointment at 12w5d, but were wrong -- I didn't know officially until 19w.
  • My OB guessed at 13 wks on Baby A, we found out later she was right.  At 16 wks my OB told us we were having b/g, but said to wait until we went to the MFM for final confirmation, which was at 18 wks.
  • We found out at 20 weeks during the big ultrasound.  We waved the 16 week testing so that was our first ultrasound where anything would be really identifiable.  We had a 9/10 week one but that was way too early.  I'm not sure if they will be able to ID anything at 14 weeks or not, depends on the skill of the technician, but even then, I wouldn't guarantee the results.
