I need to vent about this here before I reply to this email I just got from my MIL:
"Hi,
I have a request from an aunt of yours that lives in Ohio...she would like you to add more to your registeries for the baby. Such as, stroller, high chair, car seat, and/or other big ticket items."
Seriously??? There is a ton of *** on the THREE registries we started, we should add more?
#1. We have a carseat on the registry. In fact, we have 2 (a $100 infant seat and a $300 convertible.)
#2. The stroller we plan to get is $400. I'm not comfortable putting a $400 stroller on my registry.
#3. We are getting a hand me down high chair from my mom.
#4. I'm not going to register for things we don't want or need just to fill it out. My shower will be small so I want to keep it to things we need.
I need to calm down and realize I'm complaining about someone wanting to buy us something expensive. Breathe...
Re: WTF???
Exactly.
Deep breath...
Perhaps your aunt read the registry wrong and did not see the carseats on there.
I agree with this. I dont think its a huge deal if you put a 400$ stroller on your registry. A lot of people like to go in together and get something nice...
Add the stroller and see if she will buy it. That would be sweet!
Is it possible with three registries that she is looking at the registry that doesn't have the carseats on it or do you have the same stuff on all three?
Also, I added hand me down items to my registry and then listed them as purchased that way people realized that I had them. Some people will buy things because they "think" you forgot to put the items on your registry.
You're right, but I really think it might be a bit bigger ticket than she was expecting. Maybe then she'll know why it wasn't there to start with.
Here is another idea, say you put the stroller on your registry and no one gets it. Won't you get a completion coupon with a certain percentage off to buy it yourself?? I would say that could take a huge chunk off of 400 dollars
Yes, yes. I knew I could count on 3rd tri to straighten my a$$ out
Off to reply gratefully.
Very true, but it's overpriced at BRU to begin with and only available online, so the shipping would probably eat up the savings.
