Do I need/want two single strollers?

I would like to get a single stroller for those times when only one child goes (doctor, etc.).  I found a good deal and now I'm wondering about getting two.  We like to do summer festivals, etc., and our regular stroller (Baby Jogger Classic SBS) is pretty big.  The ones I found would be suitable for travel, too.

I'm not exactly rolling in money during this recession.  WDYT?  Need a single or two?  (My girls are 1 and were preemie and haven't been out a ton since they outgrew the DSNG, so I am not certain about my needs yet.

Re: Do I need/want two single strollers?

  • We had a Duo Glider for when I was out with the girls by myself and two Maclaren Volos for when DH was with me. It was so much easier to get around tight spaces with 2 single strollers.
  • We only have one single stroller and I have not had the need for two single strollers.  We have the city mini sbs and a chicco sbs.  We use the city for almost everything - except travel - for that we use the chicco.

I use the single when I have one to go to dr. appts...but even then I usually just carry the one baby and leave the stroller home.

  • We have two singles and it does make it easier.  A lot of times we take the babies seperate places so they come in handy for that.  Plus, when we flew, it was much easier traveling with two small singles as opposed to the bigger, bulkier double strollers.  However, we don't have very expensive singles, we got Mia Modas, forget which ones specificially, Facile?  They were about $40/
  • We have 2 cheap umbrella strollers that we use when DH and I go to the mall together or somewhere that might be a tight fit/crowded.  I am so glad we have them.
  • We don't have any single strollers, and I just haven't felt the need.
