3rd Trimester

i hate my pug

It's 50 plus degrees in Chicago today so I decided on my lunch break I'd take my pug and weimeriner for a walk as we all have cabin fever and need a bit of fresh air.  Well, 30 minutes, a broken leash, skinned knee and skinned elbow later I'm home and very mad at my pug!  For all of you who own pugs you understand he could care less about me or that he was bad on our walk....pugs are wonderful for snuggling, eating your left overs and making funny noises...beyond that they're selfish creatures!  I'm so mad at him I seriously could beat the crap out of him but I know that's not going to me anywhere but feeling like a terrible fur-mommy and he wouldn't care a bit.  To show the difference in my dogs as I was sitting on the floor not sure if I was more mad or embarrassed that the weeble wobbled and actually fell down my weim came up to me and was sniffing me and kissed my face while my pug was still pulling as I had him by his collar.

My back hurts so bad now & my knee is stinging :o(

I'm so mad at him!

  • Put him in time out!

  • I'm sorry that happened to you but my pugs are the opposite lol.  They are always around my ankles.
  • I totally know your frustration... mine is so particular about where he goes to the bathroom and he hates the cold. ?Being in Chicago as well is not helping with the cold situation. ?Then it finally warms up and all he wants to do is eat all of the garbage that is left behind from the melted snow. ?I was mad at mine this morning because he didn't want to walk, he just wanted to sit there and sniff the air. ?Selfish is right...

?Hope your back and knee get better soon!!!?

  • What a little punk--sorry that happened to you.  They have anti-pulling harnesses that might help.  I know that he can't wear a gentle leader with his short nose, but the same company makes a chest harness.

I use the gentle leader on my German Shepherd Dog.  She is actually a great walker without it, but if there is a sudden squirrel or rabbit (and I don't see if first to say "leave it") I want complete control.  She is well trained, but very strong.

  • this just made me laugh out loud at my desk. My co-workers must think I am nuts. I have two pugs and understand.  Though my girl pug is sweet and would be licking me and making sure I was ok my boy would have taken off or peed on something.  You know you will have forgiven him by the end of the night....it only takes one look at that flat face and  those big eyes.

I have to chase my male off the deck when it is rainy or wet out because he will pee on the deck and the AC unit is right below where he likes to pee.

You are so right...he is so bad but I love it (except when he makes me fall).

All you girls who are talking about the snow and rain...I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN...he refuses to go outside when it's too cold or raining and when I do get him outside he just stands there and refuses to do anything...In the below zero days outside or rainy days I have to put a potty pad in my bathroom b/c he won't go outside.  BAD BAD PUGS.

My dogs run my house....when the baby gets here they are in for a rude awakening.  Spoiled pugs!

  • Oh you know that by the time you get home and get the Pug enthusiasm to see you, you'll give in. I can't stay mad at my baby girl for more than a minute. She's a lot more loving, it sounds. She knows exactly when I need her to cheer me up, when I need her for anything.
