utter ridiculousness this weekend.

DH came home pissed off at the local 7-11 store on Friday.

Apparently he went to the counter to purchase a soda, cheetos, and lotto ticket. Total was $5.54. He gave the clerk a $5 GC he had (he'd gotten 2 at the races). So the clerk tells him his balance is 54 cents. Fine. DH hands a dollar. Clerk hands him back his gift card. DH asks where is his change. Clerk says "your card has a balance of 46 cents."

the idiot added the dollar to the gift card... DH was fuming. Manager got involved and swore there was nothing to be done. DH had to just live with having 46 cents on GC.

Fast forward to Saturday. DH and I go to 7-11 with other $5 card and the 46 cent one. DH picks up the exact same items and gives clerk (different one) the 2 GC's and 8 cents. Should be all good. Clerk informs us that we can only use one GC at a time! W.T.F!

OMG - you should have seen me go off on the idiot. I explained that it's the same as cash. I grabbed the cards and pointed out that the fine print on the back says nothing about only using one at a time. DH just kept saying "that adds up to $5.54 - make it work". Manager gets involved. I keep getting told that I don't understand what they are saying. Then I was told "it is you people that I have to learn to deal with working here". Huh?!

ugh.
