Gestatianal Diabetes test?

Is the gestational diabetes test(GDS) a fasting test?  If so how many hours of fasting before the test are needed? 

 My dr was in such a rush this morning that she just filled out the lab sheet but didn't give me any instructions.  There are also no instructions regarding this particular test on the lab sheet

the regular GD test is non-fasting, but if you fail that and have to do the 3 hour one, you'll have to fast.

Thanks!  I was wondering why there were two pg diabetes tests listed on the sheet.    Hopefully I pass the first one :-)

Just don't have bananas of fruits juice before you go, ?that's what my doctor told me. ?It could give you a false positive on the first test.
