nbr: Fish Fry poll

They start next week :)

Where are your favorite churches that offer fish fry?

What do you like that they serve??

Re: nbr: Fish Fry poll

  • We have never been, but I have heard wonderful things about Mary Queen of Heaven in Florence/Erlanger.  DH used to work in Florence and we were meaning to pick up fish one Friday last year, but never got around to it.

  • I was going to recommend Mary, Queen of Heaven also.  We have gone for the past 2 years.  The first year we went with friends and waited in line (the long gets LONG), but Fr. Wurth walked around with a cheese tray and they sold beer to people who were standing in line, so it wasn't that bad.  I am not a fish person so I got some sides.  Last year, we got carryout and the southwestern grilled cheese was tasty.  The fries are really good too!
  • Well, it's not a church Fish Fry, but my favorite place to go for great fried fish (while it's still light outside...in OTR) is Alabama Fish Bar.  The Elk's in Cold Spring also have a good one every Friday...not just in Lent.

We went to Little Flower in Mt. Airy several years ago.  Yuck!  It was no better than the funny shaped fish triangle they served to us every Friday at school.   I've heard that the Crow's Nest in Price Hill has out of this world fish sandwiches.

I don't eat fish but my husband swears by Crows Nest fish sandwiches! He said that during Lent they set up some alternate site on Glenway somewhere. He gets those for lunch on fridays during lent since he is always on that side of town.
