Talk about manipulative.

Joe has really learned how to manipulate me into letting him stay up longer at night.... He usually gets 2 books before bed. Last night, he got his storytime in and I put him in his crib for bedtime and he pointed to the book shelf and said: "Bah! Bah!" How can I deny the boy reading time?!?!?! So...last night, we read 6 "Bahs" before I he'd go to sleep. LOL. Such a sucker for a book-lover I am!

I met a 19 month old Saturday with a 100 word vocabulary. Her mom said it was simply because all she wants to do is read books.

My kid and i pick out 2 books. (he walks over and points, i grab two) we rock and read and then our ritual walking the books back to the shelf and putting them up and turning off the lights. perhaps that's why my kid doesn't talk... i'm depriving him of reading more. =(

p.s. he only wants to read books about fire trucks. ha.

Owen still does it to me and he will be four in March. ?We start with two books and end up reading three but now they are the longer ones so it takes forever to put him to bed. I guess it could be worse though...

Oh I can so relate. There have been many nights we've read upwards of 10 books!!! I'm like you, I can't ever say NO to books!

That is great he loves books so much!  I used to sneak a book light when I was a kid...such a dork.

DH was like this. when he went away to college, his parents got a new bed for his room. when they took the old matress off the box spring, there were dozens of books wedged between them. his mom said she would peek in on him late at night and he would be passed out with a book and a flashlight in his hand. dork.

meanwhile, i was sneaking out my bedroom window and up to all kinds of other mischief.
