My friend's sister is on her third child and has used the same bottles for all 3! I'll admit I can appreciate the thought process because I hate thinking about just tossing all of DD's perfectly good bottles away. Would you do this?
ETA: Would your opinion change if you were waiting say 3-4 years in between kids?
Re: Reusing bottles for next child?
Yup... in fact, I am using Avent bottles that were used by my niece and my nephew.
Who cares, as long as they are in good condition.

We use drop-ins, and we plan on using them for all our children. We know we will have at least 1 more.
I will just buy new nipples for each child. I don't see the purpose of throwing out perfectly good bottles. My SIL did this, and I have no idea why. You could try to sell them rather than throw them out.
I would guess that they can probably be recycled as well.
Really????? I never heard this...
We're not having any more children but if we were i'd definitely reuse them.

I can't find any info on expiration dates for bottles. I also can't see bottles getting brittle after a year or two. The family I just worked for used Playtex Drop-ins that were the old primary colors (manufactured in 1998, etc) and they worked fine.
As long as you replace nipples, then you should be fine.
I have a few different brands, but will keep all of them for our next. I'll see which one they like - it may differ from DD. But I'll get new nipples
Ditto this exactly.
