We want to try to take a family vacation every year. 2008 was the first year we were able to do so. We went to Florida and has a BLAST. Luckily, we stayed with family and didn't have to pay for much more than our airfare out there. In 2009, we are driving to Colorado. I visited CO twice a year as a child, but DH has only been there a couple of times.
What are some "must see" areas just for some ideas for following years? T hanks!
Re: Great family vacation areas? (In the US)
where in colorado?!? denver? yes?
we have a great GREAT children's museum, and a cute OLD amusement park that is great for little kids. good parks too.
We are planning on heading to the Colorado Springs vicinity. I have family in Canon City and would like to take Nora and DH back to my old "stompin' grounds."
I have a dear friend who lives in Ft. Collins. I'm sure we'll have to make another trip out to see her sometime soon!
I think Chicago is awesome. They have a huge aquarium, museums & planetarium. Tons of restaurants, etc.
I would love to rent a house on the east coast near the beach (like J&K+8 did for the 4th of July).
I haven't been to Sea World, but think that would be cool.
Cape Cod in MA. Especially mid-cape like Brewster. Rent a house close to the beach and spend the week in the sand. 4th of July is crazy busy there, but awesome because you can go to the beach and see tons of fireworks up and down the beach being set off by all of the towns as well as the resorts.
Washington DC when they are old enough to be a bit interested in things there (like 10-11).
I 2nd Chicago. You can easily spend a week there.
