I have a VERY strong preference for vaginal birth and all of the benefits that come with it for mom, baby, and their ability to bond. I am very scared that something will prevent me from having that choice.
my neighbor, also one of the OBs in my practice had a baby in Sept. and scheduled her own c-section and her baby came home looking angelic and non-stressed, cause she was never IN the birth canal. I dunno, seems like a good idea for mom (preserving present state cooter-ville) and keeps the baby from physical stress.
I wish I could go VBAC. But first DC was breach so had to have a Csection. While it wasn't terrifying, the recovery was rough. I am choosing another Csection due to the closeness between my first and second child. I can't talk myself into taking a chance on a uterean rupture. But, had I not had a C before, I'd definitey go natural.
Re: To C-section or not to C-section...
Owen Anders: labor (natural onset), failed VBAC, emergency c/s.
