I would like to suggest JUST Max. Like on Will and Grace - JUST Jack? But with Max instead.

I like Max. We are considering it for DS as is. I can't decide if it is too much for a nickname for a name.

I like it, but there are a million Max's around here (Boston area) right now under the age of 2. Not sure if that matters to you or not, but it is getting pretty popular.
