Did anyone register only to be ridiculed for the choices you made? (i.e. that cost of some items, the stores you chose, what you chose)
I ask this because for our wedding we registered at Macy's, Target and Williams Sonoma. Standard stuff...china, knives, linens, etc. Nothing outrageous. We were told by quite a few people that we were registering for stuff that is really fancy and expensive. 75% of our stuff was 50 bucks or less.
I just wanted to be prepared for the complaining before I had to deal with it. I am likely to snap back this time and then wish I hadn't said what I said.
Re: Speaking of registering...
MIL and her friends.....they felt my china selection was far too fancy. Vera Wang's Lace...it is gorgeous I have used it on them! It really sent my DH over the edge and he is so low key and laid back.
We are definitely putting some expensive things (like our stroller, car seat, etc.) on our list and I have no problem with that. If they don't want to buy it, that's fine, we'll get it for ourselves. But it's your baby and you are entitled to register for what you want for YOUR baby. So tell everyone to shove it!?
?I think my MIL and SIL are shocked I'm not just taking their hand-me-down crib, stroller, etc. but I've politely declined because DH and I agree that there are certain things we want to get new for our new little one. Everyone always ?has an opinion.?
