For those who made a monkey cake...

..did you use the banana cake or did you use a different kind of cake? If you subsituted what kind did you use and was it easy to bake in the bowl. TIA

I used a boxed, yellow cake. I baked it at a lower temp (325) for longer than the box says.  It was very easy!

that sounds way easier. that banana cake looks a little bit complicated.

Yeah, I love Martha, but she always seems to make things more difficult than they need to be. I'm all about the shortcuts, especially now! Good luck! I loved Finn's monkey party!

I also did the yellow cake, but made hersheys chocolate frosting to go with it.  It turned out great.  I cooked it at 350, for about 45 mintues, until a skewer came out clean and light brown on top.
