Upcoming Appointments: OB tomorrow, but I may be calling out sick.
How are you feeling?: feeling sick. The sickness finally landed on me. My 8 year old made cereal and fruit for the kids this AM. It was both a Mom fail and win moment. He just hopped to when I said I wasn't feeling well. I have spent the day deep cleaning and resting. Trying to kill off whatever it is that keeps taking us down this season. Maybe the sickness hitting now means it won't when baby is here. 🤞
Rants/Raves: I'm opening a company and I am having the darnedest time coming up with a name. I don't know if it's the head cold that has been hanging around, the pregnancy brain (which is very much a thing for me lol) or what but every name I like has been taken. It's driving me crazy!!!
Questions: Anyone else feeling overwhelmed this week? 😵💫 I think its just the holidays and feeling crappy, but holy balls am I just off!
GTKY: If you could eat 1 food for the rest of your life what would it be?
A good sandwich. But I'm probably just saying that because I crave them while pregnant. Always want what you can't have. 🙃
Hope all of you are feeling well and not dealing with a similar shit show as me at the moment! 🫡💛
How are you feeling?: I’m exhausted and feel that there is no room left in my body to grow a baby. I’m big, everything is tight, I waddle, the pelvic pain is real, and I’m often peeing my pants when I cough or sneeze. 😓
Rants/Raves: It has been a chaotic past few weeks. We were two weeks away from closing on a house when I was laid off from my job. I had been working there for 16 years, but ownership changed a little over a year ago and it had become extremely toxic, manipulative, and stressful. So it’s probably a good thing, but now we have no income after severance ends and my husband and I both need to start job searching. We terminated our house contract. Then, my in laws wanted to help with the house cost so we revived the contract, closed, and have been slowly moving over the past week. I’m hoping that we will be moved in by Christmas. I’m also trying to take it easy when I’m feeling bad because I don’t want to cause preterm labor. We haven’t even bought diapers yet! We have nothing other than clothes for the baby.
Questions: Is anyone else planning to get induced? I need to determine if I’m going to be induced between weeks 39-40. I chose induction last time. It wasn’t too bad. I was just ready to be done and wanted to make sure my OB was there for the delivery. I haven’t decided yet this time around.
GTKY: If you could eat 1 food for the rest of your life what would it be? Probably tacos 🌮
Upcoming Appointments: Had a growth scan and checkup today.
How are you feeling?: Feeling ok. Achy and sore, heartburn, random bouts of nausea, but what else is new?
Rants/Raves: At my appointment today, we learned that baby girl is transverse instead of head down (which I've wondered and joked about recently), so they scheduled another ultrasound to check her again in about 4 weeks. They also very casually tossed out the term C-section if she doesn't turn herself around, which seemed a bit premature to me, but...we'll see.
Questions: What's everyone's favorite, but not necessarily traditional, Thanksgiving dish? My family has always made a spinach and cheese casserole and I love it; I can't quite imagine the holidays without it!
GTKY: If you could eat 1 food for the rest of your life what would it be? Ummm...maybe a really good bowl of ramen? (Restaurant style, not instant). I also really love bacon and pineapple pizza...and spinach cheese casserole 😄
@emeraldmaybythebay I'm sorry you're sick! That sucks, especially when pregnancy is already wearing you down 😕
@kbmt I'm not choosing induction just because I'd like to know what it's like to go into labor naturally. I'm also curious about the difference in contraction pain; pitocin contractions supposedly hurt more. I was induced last time due to elecated blood pressure, and I don't think there's anything wrong with elective induction, but I'm interested to see what my body can do on it's own.
I did have to cancel my appt yesterday. My husband stayed home so I could sleep all day and I feel 80% better. Still have cough and sore throat but my chest isn't aching. Thanks for the well wishes. Trying to decide if I should reschedule or wait until my next appt. 🤔
@kbmt you have some great in-laws! I hope everything turns around for you all. How crappy to spend 16 years somewhere and them do that. It angers me when people aren't appreciated. You hear stories like that all the time and it just reminds me that end of the day family over everything. Congrats on the home. I hope you have a magical 1st Christmas in it!
@marmalade0 I've had 3 babies that came on their own and 1 that should have, I was in labor and they still pitted me. That was my worst one yet. The doc ignored me still pitted me and my husband delivered him because no one would listen to a 4th time unmedicated mother. From IV to delivery was 48 minutes and I'd have done 30 hours of natural over that 48 minutes and the stress of telling my husband he has to catch him. My daughter was forced induction, she didn't make it and I knew she was 90% not going to so that was awful, but I think it was heightened because of the heaviness of it.
I have never had a cesarean. Props to the women that have them, they just seem so serious and scary to me. Grateful for the technology and would obviously choose it over anything scary happening, but that's a HUGE surgery and recovery is spent postpartum. Next level! I definitely enjoyed mine that came on their own the most. I try to go unmedicated and I have enjoyed the recovery of those over epidural more. But in that moment that juice is so good lol! There are ways to help flip baby. You still have a lot of time. They probably just threw it out there for you to mentally prepare if baby doesn't flip.
SAUSAGE STUFFING BALLS!!! so easy and so good and you can make ahead. The next morning with an over easy egg for breakfast. 🤤 I really love sweat potatoes casserole too with the struessel top. The kids love that one and you can make it the night before as well.
