2nd Trimester

Can a body pillow side sleeper help with back support while pregnant?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in my 2nd trimester and starting to feel some lower back discomfort, especially at night. I’ve heard that a body pillow side sleeper might help with support and alignment, but I’m not sure if it really makes a difference.

Can a body pillow side sleeper help with back support while pregnant?

Would like to hear your experiences or any recommendations you have!

  • Im hypermobile, so I always put a pillow on either side of me to help with the lower back pain. It definitely helps! A pregnancy pillow kind of does it by default! Helps support your joints :)

  • This is the pillow I bought and I use one small one on each side and use the long one for between my knees and it's made a huge difference for me! I roll on my back in my sleep so it's helped with that and my hip and back pain is drastically better.
  • I used a regular pillow between the knees for a while, but once I switched to a pregnancy pillow it helped more with lower back support.
  • I was skeptical, but I tried one of the C-shaped pregnancy pillows and it actually made getting into a good sleeping position much easier. If you're tossing and turning a lot at night, that kind of support might help.
