WAYDTGKU (BD/TI/IVF/FET/Benched/etc.): Matching phase for embryo adoption

WTO/TWW: TWW, but my temp dropped this morning so AF will probably start tomorrow

How are things going? Any questions?: The agency said they’ll make sure to be more aware of medical history when matching us next time since that’s what keeps getting our clinic to say no. Hopefully we get a new match soon and even more hopefully it’s a good match

R/R: One of the side characters in the TV show I’ve been watching has been pregnant the past several episodes. I’m pretty sure it’s just because the actress got pregnant. But it’s been hard for me to watch because she just pops in for a short scene, shows off her bump, and leaves. For some reason that’s harder for me to watch than if it was a main character

@britters314 Maybe because it’s almost flippant and not a big deal for her to be pregnant, which isn’t the case for those TTC? I have definitely felt those feelings about TV show characters that almost belittle fertility and make it seem like it’s so easy for everyone that it doesn’t really matter.

How are things going? Any questions?: A little irritated. Missed last cycle because DH was gone, only BD this cycle once on O day, and looks like we will miss next cycle because of a camping trip.

Timing/Testing/CS: so far we are hitting every other day. 

How are things going? Any questions?: My fertile window is open but my OPKs are so light. I feel like they should be much darker right now. I guess this means I’m going to ovulate late. Which is fine because DH has been working mids again. Has anyone noticed a significant difference in the darkness of their OPK with FMU vs SMU? I’m going to take another OPK with SMU later this morning and see what results I get from that. Based on CM patterns things are moving along but I get discouraged seeing such a light line on my OPK. I think this is why I usually ditch them. They stress me out. Maybe I need a different brand. I’m using wondfo because I just like that brand. Any recommendations on brands? 

R/R: it’s been in the 50’s in the afternoon. I’m hitting the lake today with some friends. Should be fun but I’m not sure exactly what to expect. Usually it’s covered in ice right now but we seem to be having our typical May weather instead of late March early April. So it’s probably going to be nothing but mud.

@britters314 I hope this next embryo match will be the one! I’m glad you were able to tell them to take medical history into account when matching you. You think they would automatically do that. 

@aloha_mama DH’s work schedule has been lining up with my ovulation for the last several months. It’s been frustrating. I finally told him we needed to fit it in or we would be doing this for eternity. Hopefully yall caught the egg!

@emeraldcity603 They did ask us about preferences for things like that before we started matching, but when I had originally talked to my doctor she said the only thing to worry about was maternal age when they retrieved the eggs. I’m guessing she didn’t think medical history like these would come up. We had given a couple of our own preferences for medical history, but didn’t know these issues that came up were genetic so we didn’t say anything from the beginning.

@britters314 Hopefully you get a good match soon! I too would think they'd automatically test for any medical issues...also totally hear you about the TV show. I had to stop watching a show when TTC because the couple was going through infertility and it was too triggering.

R/R: I am still so exhausted from the wedding I was in this past weekend, having flown across the country twice (with layovers both times) and just the general go-go-go. I could barely keep my eyes open on the subway on the way to work this morning. Also, the friend I was really looking forward to hanging out with got sick and left right after our bridesmaid duties were over, so that was a bummer.

WTO/TWW: technically "WTO," adding progesterone starting tomorrow 4/3

How are things going? Any questions?: Things are things. Estrogen levels are great and lining thickness is decent (though slightly lower than all previous transfer cycles) so we're scheduled for an FET next Tuesday 4/8. I've now got two Sharpie circles on my butt to give me a target for the progesterone in oil injections. I'm anxious about all of it but hanging in there. Just need to keep reminding myself that I can do hard things.

R/R: I've got nothing. I'm emotionally and physically exhausted this week.

@fifilala516 Aw, such a bummer to miss out on friend time! Especially since as much as we attend weddings because we love and want to support the bride and groom, the reality is that you get so little face time with the actual couple and will spend most of your time hanging out with the other friends and family in attendance.

@aisleofviewtwo I'm sorry you’re feeling so exhausted. Hopefully everything goes smoothly this cycle for everything that’s lined up.

@emeraldcity603 I like easy@home / premom for opks. They're cheap and it's easy to have quantitative tracking in their app. Generally LH is higher in the afternoons, it's not supposed to be with FMU. FMU is for pregnancy tests.

@ferret22 I need to drink so much during the day that I can’t get an accurate reading on the evening without doing a 4 hour hold with zero liquids. I really struggle with that. I asked this on the one off post but feel free to just answer here. Not sure why I didn’t just come straight here. Anyways, I missed my peak from last night because I didn’t do an evening test. I went from 0.3 to 1.48 (both taken in the am). Do you think I’m ovulating today or will do it tomorrow. I’m certain I would have seen a positive last night had I tested again. Last time I got a blazing positive like this the next day my CM dried up considerably but not all the way. So would that lead you to believe I ovulated the day my CM was peaking or the day after when it was tapering off?

Pleased to report that I survived my first progesterone in oil injection this morning. It honestly wasn't that bad! I think probably it was a combination of getting lucky with placement and having built up in my head the idea that it was going to be incredibly painful, but I barely even felt the needle. I'm sure some days will be worse than others, especially as the injection sites get sore, but it's so nice to feel like okay, I can do this every other day for the foreseeable future and it will be alright. Whew.
