@haneybaby It sounds like you’re going through a tough time with this nausea, especially since you've had different experiences in your previous pregnancies. Many people find relief with ginger, whether it’s in tea or ginger candies. Acupressure wristbands can also be helpful for some. Staying hydrated is crucial, so try to sip on clear fluids throughout the day. Additionally, consider talking to your healthcare provider; they may recommend safe medications that can ease your symptoms as well. You're not alone in this—many have faced similar challenges and found solutions that work for them! Keep taking care of yourself, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need more tips or support!
@nsk489 Spotting can be a common experience during pregnancy, but it's important to consider the context. While some women may experience spotting at various stages, especially in early pregnancy, it can differ from one pregnancy to another. Since you've had implantation bleeding with your previous pregnancies and are now experiencing spotting without that initial sign, it’s understandable to feel concerned.
It's always best to consult with your healthcare provider about any spotting or unusual symptoms you encounter. They can provide personalized guidance based on your medical history and current situation. Your peace of mind is important, so don’t hesitate to reach out for professional advice!
@cheyenneduncan It's important to approach headaches during pregnancy with caution, as your health and that of your baby are paramount. Here are some convincing strategies that may help alleviate severe headaches:
1. Stay Hydrated: Dehydration can trigger headaches, so ensure you're drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
2. Rest and Relaxation: Stress can worsen headaches, so find time to rest in a quiet, dark room. Consider relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or prenatal yoga.
3. Cold Compress: Applying a cold compress to your forehead or neck may provide relief by numbing the pain and reducing inflammation.
4. Regular Meals: Low blood sugar can lead to headaches, so try to eat small meals or snacks regularly throughout the day.
5. Consult Your Doctor: Always consult with your healthcare provider before taking any medications or treatments for headaches during pregnancy. They may recommend safe options tailored to your specific situation.
Following these steps can significantly improve your comfort level, but always prioritize professional medical advice tailored to your circumstances for the best outcomes.
@_ivk_ It sounds like you might be experiencing mild cold-like symptoms, which can happen for various reasons. While body aches and chills can indicate a viral infection, the absence of a sore throat or significant congestion might suggest that it’s something less severe. It’s important to listen to your body—if these symptoms persist or worsen, consulting with a healthcare professional could provide clarity and peace of mind. Staying hydrated, getting plenty of rest, and monitoring your symptoms closely are also good steps to take. Don't hesitate to seek help if needed; your health is a priority!
Had some lightheadedness and felt like passing out after running around for a couple hours for a class I was teaching. After calling the guru, my mom, and checking Doctor Google it looks like this is a normal occurrence during early pregnancy, but it had me concerned. Have my first prenatal appointment tomorrow and will bring it up with the doctor. Anybody else experience something similar?
@redseawitch Yes! I've had some dizziness and lightheadedness for sure. I believe it's a result of the increased hormones and blood flow. It's possible your blood pressure is low right now, which would definitely make you feel like you're going to pass out. They'll check your BP at the prenatal appt. Let the doctor know about these symptoms and they may have some suggestions!
Yes this has been happening to me too! I think I mostly have a handle on it now though. I noticed it was worse if I was hungry (even just a little bit hungry) and I basically can't do any cardio (weird for me since I'm an avid walker but I guess not anymore!). I make sure I'm always snacking now and if I feel any kinda hunger I just eat something. I don't walk long distances anymore and have switched to yoga and pilates for my exercise as these don't seem to bother me. It's gotten way better! Try a few different things and see if you can help it ❤️
Has anyone taken Diclegis for morning sickness? I did the unisom/b6 regime with my first pregnancy and it -helped- but I was still sick as can be. The morning sickness is coming in full force this time again, but earlier, and I was wondering if I should push for the Diclegis instead so it might be more consistent with the delay release. Did anyone try both and notice a difference one way or the other?
Anyone have their first ultrasound/appointment know if you need to fast? I heard there could be blood draw and don’t know if we are required to fast for that.
Has anyone had a lot of low back pain? I’ve had chronic pelvic floor and low back and hip tightness for years but I’m almost 7w tomorrow and my back is soooo achy
Anyone shopping Black Friday sales for anything bump/baby-related? My local charity shop is selling everything for $1/each today, so I picked up a few maternity clothes to have on hand. They had baby stuff too, but I didn’t get any of that.
@beetay15 I’ve hard back pains for the last few weeks and I’m approximately 7weeks tomorrow. A warm bath/ shower helps, also when you’re sitting try putting a pillow or something against your lower back. It helps me.
Are dating ultrasounds and prenatal visits different? When I called my ob/midwifes office they scheduled me for my dating ultrasound which is on the 9th but they didn’t schedule any prenatal visit. Do I need to call them to schedule that too or will they do that at my appointment for the ultrasound?
@brittanny21 It’s totally dependent on the office and what the OB’s schedule allows. I will have an appt with the OB directly after my dating scan. But for my son, I had the OB appt a few days after the U/S. I’m sure they will schedule it for you when you go in for your dating scan!
@_ivk_ You probably will have blood work done but you shouldn’t need to fast for that. The only time I had to fast for my son was when I did the 3-hr glucose test.
Anyone able to get zofran prescription before their first appointment?
This is my second and I had severe HG with my first, feeling nausea now HARDCORE so was hoping they would give me the zofran before I’m fully puking. Any experience? I’ve done the ginger, the crackers, the sea bands, etc lol
Has anyone had a clear blue test reach 3+ weeks and then a day later (was at the end of the day with diluted urine) have it go back to 2-3 weeks and everything been ok? I am 6 weeks + 2 days

My previous pregnancy they never gave me zofran and it was awful! I don’t think mine will give it in the first trimester at all but I am dying already and puking several times a day so solidarity here. Good luck!
I’m 7 weeks and I just had spotting for the first time, no pain is accompanying the spotting. Is this something that i should contact my doctor about? Important note: I had a very early ectopic miscarriage back in March which is making me a little more anxious that I may typically be and I don’t want to over react…
@brittanny21 have you had an ultrasound yet to confirm it’s intrauterine? If not I would contact your doctor and ask for an ultrasound, with your history of an ectopic. I had an ectopic in September so for this pregnancy they did an early ultrasound to confirm it was intrauterine. Spotting can of course be normal, but I would get it checked just in case. Your chance of an ectopic is higher than most because of your history, but don’t forget your chance of having a normal pregnancy is higher than chance of having an ectopic. I hope everything works out, and please keep me updated if you’d like!
@bluejaybaby my ultrasound is scheduled for this coming Monday. The only thing they’ve done so far is have me go in for bloodwork a few times to watch my numbers. I’ve been looking it up and it sounds like it could still be implantation spotting but I feel like that’s really delayed if so. I’m going to call my doctors office first thing in the morning and see how they would like me to proceed. I know that it’s just going to worry me and make my anxiety worse until I talk to them. Thank you for the response, I’ll definitely keep you updated!
Congestion and extra mucus production is extremely common during pregnancy. I already have issues with it so I still take Zyrtec and Flonase, but a humidifier can help to at least keep your nasal passages hydrated and drinking lots of water can help thin it out as well. While some parts of your immune system can be suppressed during pregnancy, it is actually very common to have an overactive immune system during the first 15 weeks. My WBCs are always high during early pregnancy and it’s considered a normal finding in pregnant women (in the absence of any other signs of infection of course). I am even on a biologic which suppresses the immune system (autoimmune disease) and it still is overactive. Just allow yourself plenty of rest when you need it!
I had my Dating Ultrasound today and confirmed that my due date is July 21st (my husbands birthday!) Everything looked great! Our baby had a beautiful strong heartbeat and is measuring as they should. I couldn’t be more happy and content knowing that our Rainbow Baby is on its way❤️ Thank you to everyone who has responded to my concerns and helped out with my questions. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the journey of pregnancy.
The peppermint flavor of the Pink Stork morning sickness drops were a big help to me. I always tried to keep something in my stomach, even if it was just a few crackers. This pregnancy I ended up having to get a prescription for Zofran, but man was it a LIFESAVER!
Anyone else’s symptoms at 9 weeks disappear and you get worried? I have no actual reason to be concerned - I’ve had two ultrasounds (one due to bleeding and the normal 8 week one) and everything looked great. This is my 4th and the only one I’ve had horrible symptoms with (nausea, exhaustion, cramping, headaches, etc) but the symptoms stopped a few days ago. Am I just being nervous?
I’m around 9-10 weeks right now, and physically I have felt much better this week. I read online that some people do start to feel better around this time.🤞
