8 Week Abdominal Ultrasound and not able to see heartbeat yet, anyone else?

Has anyone else had an early abdominal scan and not been able to see the heartbeat yet? I went for a private scan today at 8 weeks and 2 days and they did an abdominal scan, we were able to see the baby, yolk sac, umbilical cord etc, but not able to see the heartbeat. Is this normal? The tech didn’t seem worried and said baby is probably still too small! My gut tells me everything is ok, but still can’t help but be a little nervous… anyone else?? I will add I’m still having all the pregnancy symptoms and haven’t had any bleeding or cramping etc.

@zeddy1817 You should be able to ascertain a heartbeat around 7 weeks with an internal ultrasound.  If you are concerned, you should call your doctor.  Neither the ER nor a private boutique is a place to go for early maternal health and/or to see if a baby is progressing as it should be.

I’m wondering if they don’t the best ultrasound machines at these private places. But also using a Doppler I have been able to find a heartbeat at 8 weeks. Was baby moving?

I went for what I thought was my 8 week appt baby was measuring at 6. I know my cycle may be off. Due to a pregnancy loss in May at 27 weeks. I had 1 cycle before our little surprise. I know hy 7 weeks they say you can get a heartbeat. So we are going back in 9 days. I know where I went the machine is lacking, but they work with the midwife so it's what I have to work with.
A friend of mine was more heavy around the belly and they often had to do transvaginal to get a heartbeat when it was earlier and she had more because of her weight.
I hope it's just the machine. Will be praying for you. I know my mind is going crazy. Even though I think everything is fine. After my loss so far along, I'm more anxious than with any of my pregnancies.

This is what happens when you don't follow normal medical guidelines.   Boutiques should be banned, period.

Our ultrasound technician could see the heartbeat and its rate, but we didn’t get to hear it or anything.
