Baby is the size of a (an): half lego brick, gummy bear or raspberry
Team blue/pink/green: green
Upcoming Appointments: I have my first appt tomorrow!
How are you feeling?: Queasy. Always queasy. And tired.
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? About 10 close family members. We will tell our other two kids (6 and 3) tomorrow after the appointment if all is well.
Me: 36, DH: 40
Married: July 22, 2008 Fur babies: Yeti (cat)
#1 Boy E 9/30/17 #2 Girl A 7/27/2020 #3 ?? ? est. 1/5/2025
Upcoming Appointments: 6/6 intake; ultrasound date TBD (they won’t schedule me until I have the intake)
How are you feeling?: BLOATED, moody, slightly nauseous, a little anxious, very hopeful
Rants/Raves: I’ve never bloated in my life so this is a new one. I’m scared I already look pregnant 😂
Questions: how do you guys handle the waiting game until your first ultrasound? I can’t help but wonder about a MMC and delay planning for a future until that appt.
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? Husband/dad, sister, 1 friend, therapist
@MandyBeeSLP FX for good news tomorrow! Do you anticipate the kids being excited about getting another sibling?
@fk18 It took us a long time (and a lot of ART) to conceive, and during that period I learned I couldn’t put the rest of my life on hold just because I might be pregnant soon. Obviously it’s a little different now with a BFP, but I’ve still been telling myself that I don’t need to make big plans or decisions or changes for the next few months, I just have to make sure I’m doing what’s best for my maybe baby day by day, and what will be will be. Then again, none of this really feels real to me yet, maybe that first US will be what does it?
EDD / Weeks + Days: January 26 / 5w1d
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Baby is the size of a (an): sesame seed
Team blue/pink/green: 💚
Upcoming Appointments: June 7 (6w5d) US with RE to look for gestational sac/heartbeat; July 15 for 12wk US with OB
How are you feeling?: Pretty good, can’t complain! Definitely more tired and easily fatigued, but other than that and heavy boobs it’s been business as usual.
Rants/Raves: My husband is going out of town for two full weeks in June at a time when I’m also dogsitting for my brother. I agreed to all of these plans in the spring, so I don’t really have the right to rant about it, when I was in the depths of infertility treatments. But now I’m starting to get worried bad 1st tri symptoms or other issues could arise and I’ll be all on my own. (That said, assuming I’m still feeling ok, VERY excited for some me time chock full of trash TV and girl dinner!!)
Questions: For the past week I’ve been waking up like clockwork at 3am and taking 60-90 minutes to get back to sleep. Any strategies for battling middle of the night insomnia?
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? My parents, my siblings, and all the friends who were aware we were doing IVF. At this point the only people I don’t want finding out is my coworkers. But my husband isn’t ready to tell his family yet, so FX I can act normal when they visit next week 🤞
@aisleofviewtwo - yes!! I’m hoping that ultrasound will make it more real too .
Re - sleep issues, I had that exact issue from 4 to 5 weeks. I’m actually a psychologist and can geek out on sleep interventions any time you want. What works for most is to get out of bed after 15 minutes of tossing in bed, go somewhere comfortable and do something boring/low key for a bit (I do slowed breathing exercises or listen to guided meditations on my couch; other things - read something mellow, listen to calming music) and then return to bed and try again. You want to avoid conditioning yourself to restlessness in the bed! Hope that helps. I think a little insomnia is very natural right now, yet sleep is so important
Baby is the size of a (an): blueberry, baby is measuring ahead at 7w2d but I did IVF and we know they are only 7 weeks
Team blue/pink/green: 💚
Upcoming Appointments: had our first US today and saw baby's strong heart beating! Such a relief
How are you feeling?: pretty great. No nausea but a bit constipated and very large sore breasts. Pretty tired all the time.
Rants/Raves: without nausea, I was so worried leading up todays ultrasound, thinking the baby may have miscarried. I am on progesterone and sometimes that delays bleeding upon miscarriage. I took a few pregnancy tests leading up to US to ensure I was still preggo! Today's US was amazing and calmed my fears, for now! I feel so elated and hopeful.
Questions: Anyone else not experiencing nausea at 7+ weeks?
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? 17 close friends and family. Waiting to tell anyone else until after 12 weeks.
Team blue/pink/green: we are doing the sneak peek test next week so we’ll know soon!
Upcoming Appointments: Nothing until June 21 with my OB. We had an US with our fertility doctor at 6w4d and saw the baby and heard the heartbeat.
How are you feeling?: So nauseous. All day long. And the few moments that I am not nauseous, I’m starving.
Rants/Raves: This first trimester feels like it has been five month long. After years of fertility treatments and MCs, I want to be so excited but find myself holding back some because it feels like I’m not out of the danger zone (even though we’ve had our first US). Ready to just be excited and not anxious about everything.
Questions:
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? Immediate family.
Team blue/pink/green: healthy baby first, but leaning team pink
Upcoming Appointments: June 4th is my intake/first ultrasound
How are you feeling?: exhausted. I made it 2.5 hrs into a bbq yesterday before I could barely keep my eyes open and DH drove us home. I immediately crawled on the couch and napped for 2 hrs straight. I also have major food aversions this time around and they are completely random; one day something is fine, the next, I barely have it in my mouth before I’m gagging.
Rants/Raves: I hate having to wait multiple weeks for my appointment. I want to make sure baby is alright and healthy. It’s like living in a weird emotional limbo of whether I can truly be excited or not.
Questions: Are there any other January moms out there that are bariatric patients? I’m 2.5 yrs post op and really making sure to prioritize nutrition and supplements with this pregnancy
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? Most of my immediate family know, and the Majority of my work family (elementary school) are also aware because of the nature of my job and having to step back from certain roles.
EDD / Weeks + Days: Jan 15th going off last period, so around 6w5d I think?? Confirming at appointment because I know I’m off slightly because of irregular cycles
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM!
Baby is the size of a (an): chocolate chip!
Team blue/pink/green: 💚
Upcoming Appointments: First appointment next Wednesday!
How are you feeling?: I’ve been more tired lately than usual, but expected haha. otherwise so far so good!
Rants/Raves:
Questions: Is anyone else worried about sharing the news early on? I don’t have a history of loss, however I’m nervous I’m too early to risk telling all my family and should wait a while this go around.
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? Just my husband and a friend so far!
How are you feeling?: anxious as all get out. Had a MMC almost 2 years ago, followed by 2 years of IVF. This is my last embryo. Other than that, high fatigue and some light nausea.
Rants/Raves: I'm so bloated my pants don't fit! I didn't plan on buying new clothes till the 2ns trimester!
Questions:
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? All the friends that supported me through my IVF and my mom.
Team blue/pink/green: I’ll find out around week 11 when my 10 week NIPT results come in
Upcoming Appointments: my first ultrasound is in 2 days
How are you feeling?: extremely nauseous and tired to the point where working is a struggle. Also very anxious due to my previous pregnancy loss last October
Rants/Raves: rant: having to do first trimester in the office despite all of my meetings being on zoom anyway is just cruel
Questions:
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? My parents and in laws and two very close friends. Basically the people I would want to check in on me if I lose the baby again because I will be in a very dark place and will need support if that happens
popping in over here, can't decide if I'm more of a Dec or Jan, hope that's okay.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 31 Dec, 9W 1 D
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM (8 year gap)
Baby is the size of a (an): pecan
Team blue/pink/green: green for now
Upcoming Appointments: I have a follow up this friday
How are you feeling?: nausea hit me like a ton of bricks this week but I seem to be managing now. I'm also so tired all the time, going to bed way earlier than normal.
Rants/Raves: I feel like I want to tell everyone but also no one, its a rough balance
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? 5 currently. Probably waiting until 12 weeks to tell more, and no formal annoucement til maybe the halfway point.
How are you feeling?: So so nervous or the appointment tomorrow. We had IVF like @midwestmaven and am just terrified its ectopic or no embryo or something. Symptom wise I have painful nipples, tired and twinging in the womb. No nausea yet though! Oh and getting up to use the loo constantly at night!
Rants/Raves: Think it's easier for the husband to zone out of the pregnancy as I have no real symptoms and don't need helping and he just pops to work.
Questions: Was anyone else terrified for their scan?
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? 3: husband, mum and best friend! We may tell the in-laws once the scan is OK. @joyy-02 I don't think there is a right or wrong for telling people - I do know that miscarriage is a really low % after week 8 and hearing a heartbeat so you could wait until after week 8? It is a hard one I'm in the same boat especially as I'm a lover of alcohol so will be really obvious to my friends next time we meet!
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM! There will be a 6yr age gap between my kids!
Baby is the size of a (an): sweet pea!
Team blue/pink/green: green so far lol
Upcoming Appointments: June 17th! I’ll be 9w and have my first ultrasound.
How are you feeling?: TIRED, bloated, and my boobs are killing me. Thankfully, those have been my only symptoms really. I’m panicking a little because I definitely remember being sick by this time with my first. But I’m trying to stay positive and think of it as a good thing.
Rants/Raves: This will be my husband’s first biological child. He and my daughter have a wonderful bond that I am so beyond thankful for, but I’m really looking forward to seeing him with our baby! He is SO excited and has been wanting this since we started dating 3 years ago.
Questions: none!
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? Just my husband and my benefits manager at work because I had insurance questions for her! 😂 We are planning to tell family after our first appointment/US!
Baby is the size of a (an): pencil eraser, according to the bump
Team blue/pink/green: what’s this?
Upcoming Appointments: waiting the ironic two weeks before my first ultrasound
How are you feeling?: actually fine…which is worrying me. Reading that other people aren’t nauseated has helped somewhat.
Rants/Raves:
Questions: is sunburn bad? Am I suddenly more sun sensitive? I got a little sun this week (none of my sunscreens are pregnancy safe?) and my face feels like it’s burning up…I know I have more blood volume which is probably why this is so uncomfortable. I guess I gotta get new sunscreen. Any recommendations?
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? Me and hubs
How are you feeling?: Better than the last 2.5 weeks. I realized I should take a pregnancy test around lunch one day after being snippy the previous days before and it was positive and unexpected! Neither me or my partner thought we could have kids (he has an 18 year old daughter) so surprise 2+ years in.
Rants/Raves: I am a worrier especially since my pregnancy wasn't planned so I think staying off the Internet is the way to go. I had spotting when wiping a couple times but I know I have a sensitive cervix to begin with/history of UTI and kidney infections so trying to "assume pregnant and norm until doctor says otherwise". I actually felt decent that there was only a little spotting after sex because it was less than non preggo days.
Questions: Has anyone else experienced more ingrown hairs or do I need to upgrade my razors? Mostly legs. Never had issues before.
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? My best friend because I had a mild panic attack at the positive test, parents because they were bringing my nephew up to stay the summer and I don't think I can handle it until after my first appointment, and my partner because we don't live together and I didn't know what his reaction was going to be but I think he currently thinks it's just "cute" how quickly I went mommy mode and cut things out of my life to give the baby decent accomodations while staying in my vintage 37+ year old womb.
Outside of my day job I'm an astrologer so feel free to ask any questions if anyone eventually has those or you get to schedule your birth-- I do get asked for help planning at times. I wouldn't have guessed I'm expecting an Aqua Sun currently!

I work for Whole Foods and a lot of people swear by Babo brand. My best friend liked Neutrogena with 55 spf but it was hard to come by at times--I used to send it to her in Australia when I would find it in stock when she was pregnant.
I personally have had really dry skin on my nose the past few weeks and have been trying to remember to moisturizer more often--going to attempt to get in the pool this weekend so hoping my sunscreen does a good job!
Team blue/pink/green: will find out at anatomy scan
Upcoming Appointments: none yet. I need to call the midwife
How are you feeling?: unisom + b6 has been helping immensely! I feel queasy if i go too long between meals and im really tired but otherwise this has been my best pregnancy!
Rants/Raves: just so glad i found something to help the morning sickness!! I have a 3 and 1 yr old at home so laying on the couch for months (like the last 2 times) isnt really an option.
Questions: natm
GTKY: How many people in your life know you’re pregnant? Pretty much everyone. By 6 weeks i was sick and needed help. No way i can hide it very long.
@fk18 you are a godsend 💛 it’s so amazing how much getting out of bed actually helps for getting back to sleep! I think also just knowing I was doing the “right” thing and would be able to get back to sleep kept my anxiety levels lower.
The last couple nights have been better, so FX the insomnia is just a fluke weeks 4-5 thing and we can move on to something else now!
