First time father of triplets O.O

Hi there! My name is Kevin, I live in Puerto Rico. My wife and I are expecting triplets by end of year. However, this is technically our second pregnancy, since we had a miscariage for the first time almost two years ago. As you may deduce, we are extremely anxious yet excited since we found out we were expecting around a month ago. My wife is currently two days away from being 9 weeks. As a first time father, I'm looking for tips, tricks and advice left and right, since I want to do my best to be there for my wife and support her, taking into consideration our previous loss and that we are now pregnant with 3! Any help in regards to what I can do food related, since she's not able to keep most of my cooking down... Any help will be more than appreciated so please, help a first time dad out.

This post is so sweet. Sending you all the positive vibes and good wishes. I don't have much advice for you, but just listen to her. Help her out with chores she usually does. Ask her what food she feels like having, or what she is craving.

    Congratulations!

For the tips for nausea, this can be a bit hard. Food aversions can change by the hour, so it's important to get her input. A lot of pregnant persons have a hard time with meats.
If she has lots of nausea, there can be little things that can help like :
-multiple small meals heavy on protein,
-snacks with protein (like cheeze, hard-boiled egg, nuts, etc.),
-having salty and sweet crackers on hand,
    -drinking plenty of water,
-ginger tea and ginger chews can also help,
-taking a nap in the afternoon,
-light exercising when she feels up to it (first trimester is hard on the exhaustion).

There's also medical options that you can get (like Diclegis). In Canada, a pharmacist can prescribe those to pregnant people, so if her nausea is not manageable with those little tricks I gave you, a medication could help.

    Good luck!!
  • Stop everything and go buy the book “the partner’s purpose during pregnancy”. It’s really practical “how to help” advice - and it’s funny!
