This thread is for support and questions around spotting/bleeding.
Conversations surrounding these issues can be discussed here freely. The TW in the title applies for the whole thread. Please beware of reading ahead if you think you might be triggered by conversations about spotting/bleeding.
Finally, remember that most of us are not medical professionals, and even if we were, it's always best to call/visit your doctor with questions or concerns. Feel free to ask questions and voice concerns, but please do not expect anyone here to be able to offer you anything but support. The most important thing to do is to call your doctor. They can offer answers; we can offer support. 🖤

Re: *TW* Bleeding/Spotting/Threatened Miscarriage Thread
How far along are you?
From what I can remember from the losses I have experienced, I spotted a few hours before I started bleeding. Always red blood.
Some of my friends experienced spotting on and off during the first trimester and had a beautiful pregnancy.
Hopefully, it is just a bit of first trimester spotting. ❤️
My OB said that brown blood is old blood, but if the spotting turns pink or red, I can anticipate a miscarriage. She put me on “pelvic rest” until my next visit in 2 weeks, when we can hope to detect a heartbeat.
I’m hoping for the best and attributing the spotting to sex and exercise (weightlifting specifically). This is my 3rd pregnancy and the only one where I’ve had spotting. OB advised being “cautiously optimistic.”
Fingers crossed I can get in for a blood/urine test somewhere sometime soon. I sent out applications to all care providers within a 500km radius today.
That said, some spotting in the first trimester can be normal. Did you have sex recently? Sometimes the cervix is more easily irritated (even without intercourse) and it can cause light bleeding. If it's not more than spotting, I would ask your doctor's opinion on your appointment Wednesday. You could call your doctor if you are worried, but for most people, a bit of spotting doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong.
If the bleeding is heavy and fills a pad, I wouldn't wait and I would go to the hospital.
I hope things go well for you! ❤️
