High HCG Levels

Hi all,

I’d appreciate any input and feedback for those who have dealt with this.

I’ve had irregular periods since getting off birth control Jan 2023. To my surprise I found I am 7 weeks pregnant on 3/15. My Dr ordered a HCG test, results came back 228,000. I had another HCG blood test on 3/18 and results are now 323,000. My ob is concerned with chromosomal abnormalities. I can not have genetic testing until April 8- these results take up to 2 weeks. I’ve been very stressed and anxious, which I know can’t be good for baby. Any info is greatly appreciated.

yes, higher than normal hcg levels CAN be an indicator for chromosomal abnormalities. my mom had the same thing happen and when her and my dad went to a specialist when she was 6 months or so, the specialist said she’s having twins and no chromosomal abnormality! don’t stress but definitely do all the testing you can!

I keep hoping I’m just having twins. I’ll have generic testing done at 10 weeks.
