**This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ballgame. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

Re: IF Testing & Treatment w/o Feb 12
H and I are taking a trip to Central America. It’s actually for our 10 year anniversary, which is in the spring, but this is a better time to travel, so it’s kind of also for Valentine’s Day
Diagnosis (if you've been): unknown
Umm...... nothing.
Hubs had to go to Texas for a funeral and that's expensive so we're scant this year.
@ATolentino89 Two thoughts on BBT. (1) As long as you’ve slept 3 consecutive hours, you can temp! I used to temp around 1-2am because I almost never sleep through the night, and I always saw the pot-O temp shift. So you might just be able to temp when you wake at 4:30 for Synthroid. (2) I did eventually invest in Tempdrop, which is an armband that continually monitors your temp through the night and accounts for middle of the night wake-ups or movement. A little pricey, but for me it was worth it for the peace of mind of not having to worry whether I’d sleep well enough to be able to temp.
@capnjackharkness It’s been really hit or miss recently! Some weeks we’ve got a lot of check-ins, others are super quiet 🤷♀️ I do worry that newbies to TTGP are scared off by how dead the WTO/TWW have been (exciting to see some action over there this week!), but not sure what to do about that when the reality of IF testing & treatment is that we spend a lot of time waiting.
Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained
Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): IVF
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Egg retrieval
How are things going?: Today was retrieval day! Everything went smoothly, and while I’m still finding it very difficult to get my hopes up, it seems the results of the retrieval are as good as could be expected. Details in spoiler.
A small heads up for those going into IVF for the first time: I was taken aback to learn that after the trigger shot (high dose HCG) they actually have you take a home pregnancy test to confirm it’s in your system. Felt very weird and sad seeing a BFP for the first time ever, but knowing it wasn’t real.
Any questions?:
GTKY: What are your Valentine’s Day plans? Once we learned the retrieval would be this week, we agreed to no plans. We’ll exchange cards as we always do, and maybe I can convince him to curl up and watch a movie in the evening, or something similarly low key.
