Postpartum Depression

When did your PPA get better with meds?

I got post partum anxiety (and accompanying insomnia) at 3 months postpartum. I was prescribed Cirpralex (same thing as Lexapro) 10mg and I’ve been on it for about 1 week so far. Doctor warned me it can take a few weeks to notice a difference and sometimes it gets worse before better, so he also prescribed me Ativan (1 mg) and zoplicone (3.75 mg) to help with sleep until the cipralex kicks in. My insomnia is anxiety driven, so hopefully the cipralex will help that.

I rotate Ativan and zoplicone each night, I don’t take
both together.
For those of you with PPA/PPD and who were prescribed antidepressents, when did you start to feel better? And when did you start sleeping unassisted again?
I fear I’ll never be able to sleep unassisted again :(
I know this is irrational thinking, but I can’t help
it.
Does anyone have any experience with Trazodone long term (for sleep)?
