SCH support - early bleeding / cramping

Hi! Hoping to get some support from others who have experienced SCH in early pregnancy.

This is my first pregnancy, and I am 5 weeks and 4 days. They found a moderate to large SCH after I had some light bleeding and cramping. Going for a follow up ultrasound in two weeks.

Does anyone have tips or personal experiences with this?

Re: SCH support - early bleeding / cramping

  • Hi! What a surprise SCH was to me. I had never heard of subchronic hematoma before last week. I passed an SCH at 6w2days. I completely panicked due to the amount of blood and tissue that I passed. Moderate cramping maybe 10 minutes prior to bleeding starting and then passing the SCH. I felt completely fine prior to this happening around 4pm. My OB pushed my first ultrasound up sooner (the next day) and baby’s heartbeat is strong and healthy. My OB stated SCH aren’t really treated and just monitored. Mine passed and according to the ultrasound was probably the size of a blueberry when inside. Even though once passed it appeared larger in my pad (TMI sorry).

  • I just discovered a week ago that I have a large SCH. This is my first pregnancy so it’s been super scary. I went to to ER and they basically told me I had a 50/50 chance of baby being okay. Thankfully 48 hours later I had a checkup with my OB and they said most likely if it was going to cause a bad result it would happen within 48 hours. I’m still having spotting and bleeding but they say it’s normal so I’m trying to stay positive. Hope things are going better for you now!
