Update on DS's second opinion consult

We met with the dr from the children's hospital today. She was very nice, and answered all our questions.

Her recommendation is to take out tonsils and adenoids at the same time, and clear out his ears of excessive wax. His tonsils are on the medium-big side, and while she said they don't NEED to come out, it's possible that they will need to come out in the future. She will perform the surgery at a satellite center (which means no residents!) and while it will be a PITA, I feel comfortable with her assessment and recommendation.

After meeting with her I'm glad we're going with Children's. She performed a scope of DS's nose, which the previous dr did not. The surgical nurse with the original dr never ordered any preop labs (and we're supposed to be having surgery tomorrow!), lost our paperwork, and deleted one of my voice messages to schedule the surgery without even listening to it. I had to call back and talk to her again. 

New dr's ordering a couple extra labs b/c my husband had bleeding post-op, just to be on the safe side. Surgery is scheduled for the end of August, but hopefully we can get in sooner since that's the start of the school year. If I get a job it will be very hard for me to take time off so early in the year.

I'm glad you have a plan for him going forward. Sounds like he has a great doctor!
