Re: December Randoms

  • @SpartanCat that’s my plan if I have a C-section again. If not my husband will get a vasectomy. I’m completely done after the last few years of losses and the struggles this pregnancy.
  • It’s really hard for me to imagine being so sure that I am done having kids to do a permanent form of birth control (I hate finality in any sense lol) - unless a doctor tells me for my own safety then I would do a tubal. If we decide later then DH would get a vasectomy. His turn to take one for the team lol. I am trying to decide what form of birth control I want to use this time. I had a copper IUD after my other two but I realized it was giving me heavy periods so I don’t think I want that again.

  • @ceclarlinetlo I understand that feeling of finality. I'm pretty sure we're done, but I would like to get through birth and make sure the babies are safe and healthy before making the decision. As for bc, I had the nexplanon implant after my second and it was great 👍

  • @ceclarlinetlo I can totally understand that! For me, my husband is 41, I'm 36. I don't want to put my body through this more than twice and frankly we wouldn't be able to afford 3 kids. There is not a chance of having a number 3 so in our situation it makes sense to take steps to make life easier. No worrying about birth control/sex timing, messing with my hormones, cost of bc etc.
  • @SpartanCat In that case I would 100% get a tubal! Just get it over with and now have to worry!

  • @hedgepig running to look up those workouts because- ow. No idea how you’re doing it with 2 in there!
  • @hedgepig I might look into those workouts, and a belly band as well. Starting to get some hip pain!
  • @night_nurse @m2b2024 I love all of the MommaStrong stuff so much! I will also say that in previous pregnancies I put a pillow between my knees at night, but still had a lot of hip pain. This time I have 2 pregnancy pillows and use them between my legs for lots of support and have had waaaay less hip pain at night.

  • Just came to say that after having a sh*t week/weekend ( upper respiratory infection) I was finally able to score some cheap tickets for a wrestling event happening in town this upcoming Saturday for DH. A small win for me
  • @alexxajams I’m right there with you with the upper respiratory infection. I can’t remember the last time a sinus infection made me that miserable. Are you feeling any better?

    @ceclarlinetlo
I’ve never had one before and this sucks so bad.. thought I was getting better today but the coughing is starting to pick up really badly.  I’m on day 4 and thankfully the body aches subsided yesterday. But I am nervous about it turning into pneumonia
  • Here's a question for y'all -
A couple of days after my 3 hour glucose test (with the 4 blood draws), I have developed a raised, itchy rash on my arm. It's around the blood draw site, but also above and blow on the arm. I'm thinking an allergic reaction to.... maybe the tech's gloves? Or, idk. Anyone had a reaction to having a blood draw? I have had plenty in the past with no reaction. I do have a sensitivity to bandaid adhesive, but didn't have any bandages. I thought about maybe latex? But I don't really think they would have been using latex gloves? 🤷🏻‍♀️
I did ask at my appt today and they didn't have any explanation, but also weren't worried about it.

  • @hedgepig sounds like an allergy. I thought of the bandage but if you didn’t have one maybe the gloves? Cold compress can help with the itching. Maybe try some Benadryl and see if it goes down? My son had lots of itchy skin reactions when he was little and Benadryl almost always helped within a few hours.
  • @hedgepig it does sound like an allergic reaction. Did they use koban on your arm after the blood draws? There is a chance the gloves or something had latex in them. We occasionally find random supplies that aren’t latex free at my hospital. Most recently- ace wraps. But it could also be the powder from the gloves or what they used to clean your arm. Alcohol prep vs Chlorhexidine. You honestly may never know.
  • Thanks @night_nurse @kmw611
Update: I think it's just a coincidence that it's all over the arm and centered on the blood draw site, as it's progressed far enough for me to realize that somehow I have picked up a serious case of poison oak 🤦‍♀️ The day I did my glucose test I also went out on a walk on the property with my kids, and even though I am careful, and the poison oak has pretty much gone dormant for the winter, I must have managed to interact with it. Ugh, I haven't had any in years and forgot how horribly itchy it is 😭😭😭😭 Even with calamine I was still awake last night a couple of times trying not to itch it.

  • Hooboy. Just did a sizable order using my Amazon registry discount. I know our baby is doing well after our big scare earlier and I am being monitored very closely but I still am struggle with anxiety over the idea of buying these things and not bringing a baby home to use them.

  • Did a super box up and organize of the kids playroom and basement yesterday. Definitely felt it last night…oof. So nice to have done ahead of the Christmas chaos, though!
  • Ok soooo how do you know when baby has dropped?! I’m trippin cause my coworkers all told me today that my bump looks smaller and lower and also my appetite has been insane the last 3 days or so.. my next appt isn’t till next Friday buttttt idk. I’m so nervous now. I’ve also had uncomfortable hip/pelvic pain along with a huge increase of peeing all the time and I can breathe again
  • @alexxajams I’m no expert but sounds like you’ve made a pretty good case for dropping to me.

  • Lots of kicks and wiggles happening over here too! (29 weeks) And every time I put my partner's hand on my belly, they stop moving. Just a mommy party apparently!
  • ceclarlinetlo Right 😅 and now I feel like I’m peeing myself every couple of hours……

@bdc2024 my DD was like that and my DS has been that way too! I finally was able to video him moving though and had my DH come rushing to put his ear against my stomach and he finally got to feel a lil kick lol

I can tell because of where I feel movement. As soon as he moved head down I can feel his little hands lower in my pelvis. I can also feel the Wright of his head on my bladder. Hip and pelvis pain increased and my rib pain improved.
  • went twenty to triage today! Baby is good and Not trying to escape early lol. There were some other added symptoms over night, hence the trip. But all clear
  • Anyone else having terribly restless legs? What helps you if you do? I've been trying to stretch before bed but still usually wake up around 4am ish with restless legs!

I was dealing with that during my 2nd trimester. I found applying an electric heating pad helped a lot! That and riding my exercise bike 15 min before bed. Hope it helps!
  • @m2b2024 I found that I was getting hot at night. I also walk before dinner time to try and get my legs tired as well as stretching
  • It’s unfortunate that the nesting urges come with the motivation and energy to accomplish something without doing anything to prevent the revolt that will come later. I’ve been building furniture for the nursery all day and I’m not sure my lower back will forgive me 🙃
