How to report etymology errors to The Bump

Hi! I’m very interested in the name Emalyn, but I’m concerned about The Bump giving misinformation to people about this name! 😡

The name’s etymology is rooted in the old German “amal”, meaning “unceasing, vigorous, brave”; but some rando content creator on this website incorrectly describes the name’s etymology as being from “heim lind”, meaning ‘peaceful home’. 😡

I’ve already seen many people posting on IG about it and leaving comments on my posts referring to the “peaceful home” meaning. I don’t want to be correcting people’s misinformation for the rest of my life, but I’m set on this name!

When I correct people, most of them quote this website as their source! 😡 Are etymology textbooks not within reach of the content creators on this website?

HOW CAN SUCH MISINFORMATION PERSIST WHEN WE HAVE LITERAL UNLIMITED ACCESS TO INFORMATION?! 😤

If someone wants to prefer the “peaceful home” meaning, fine! They can have it! But the fact remains that The Bump is perpetuating false and outright incorrect information, and now several other baby name sites have followed suit, using The Bump as their source.

I just want to report it to The Bump and run it up the chain of command so they can correct their bad info and stop misleading people!
