1st Trimester

What’s the earliest you felt pregnancy symptoms?

Hi! I’m suspecting that I’m about 3 weeks pregnant. I’ve been feeling mild symptoms but I’m not sure if it’s in my head. Everything that I’m reading says it should be too early to feel symptoms, but this could be my second baby and I feel like I’m very in tune with my body. Wondering if the mild cramping, headache, generally “weird” feeling, vivid dreams, crying from random things could be normal at 3 weeks?

  • Sounds like PMS to me, but then again you might be pregnant.  You will k ow if you take a test.
  • I definitely felt symptoms that early!

I started having cramps 3 or 4 days before my expected period, which was out of the ordinary for me, as I typically don't start cramping until the day of bleeding. Other signs were my breasts were sore and heightened sense of smell, but those are more common for me to experience before a period. I also had cold sweats / hot flashes for about 24 hrs a couple days before my expected period, which was strange for me. Heightened sex drive for one day. Around the 3 week mark I had a vivid dream about breastfeeding! (i've never been pregnant or breastfed before.)

I took a pregnancy test on 4w1d and tested positive! I'm now 4w5d.

I hope you get the test result you are hoping for 😊
  • I’m still in the early stages of things, eagerly awaiting my darker positive test after IVF, but I’ve had symptoms for the past two days (headache, fatigue, cramping/pulling, and today I added extremely emotional to the list). If it’s sticky, I’m 3w3d today.
  • It's important to remember that every pregnancy is different, and some women may experience symptoms earlier than others. While it's true that most women don't experience noticeable pregnancy symptoms until around the 6th to 8th week of pregnancy, some may notice changes in their bodies earlier, especially if they are very in tune with their bodies or have been pregnant before.

The symptoms you mentioned, such as mild cramping, headaches, feeling generally "weird," vivid dreams, and mood swings, can sometimes occur early in pregnancy, but they are not exclusive indicators of pregnancy. They can also be caused by other factors such as hormonal changes, stress, or changes in diet or sleep patterns.

If you suspect you might be pregnant and are experiencing these symptoms, it's a good idea to take a home pregnancy test to confirm. These tests are typically reliable about 10-14 days after conception. If the test is positive, you should schedule an appointment with a healthcare provider to confirm the pregnancy and discuss your symptoms.

Keep in mind that early pregnancy symptoms can vary widely from person to person, and some women may not experience any noticeable symptoms until later in their pregnancies. If you have concerns or questions about your symptoms, it's best to consult with a healthcare professional who can provide personalized guidance and support.
