Tips to encourage dilation

I had an emergency C-section with my daughter 3 years ago after she flipped sunny side up during labor and my OB has determined that I’m a good candidate to try for a VBAC this time around. With my daughter I was induced at 37weeks due to sudden, high BP so I have no idea when I would have naturally gone into labor with her.

Because I am a Type 1 diabetic, I am not allowed to go past term and have to deliver in my 39th week (due date is 8/28). They said the only way they can induce me is if I am at least 1cm dilated, otherwise I have a c-section scheduled on August 23rd. I was hoping at my last appt I would be dilated (37w4d) but I was not, although my OB did say my cervix was “open” and she thought that was promising.

I have a membrane sweep scheduled on the 21st but other than that, any tips for encouraging dilation? I had an incredibly traumatic c-section with a long and brutal recovery and don’t want to go through that again. I have been doing the miles circuit and activating labor videos on YouTube, yoga ball exercises, eating dates etc. My OB even told me to start pumping with my breast pump while bouncing on the ball. So far some minor, occasional cramps but nothing legitimate. I’ll be 38weeks tomorrow. Has anyone else been 0 dilated in week 37 and had progress by week 38? Thanks in advance for any tips!
