How are you feeling: huge but can’t complain too much 

Rants / Raves: my 3 year old passed his trial to move into the class without a parent this fall! I’m so glad bc it was getting hard for me to keep up and would be trickier with a newborn! 

Questions: has anyone had their glucose test in the afternoon? Mine was always scheduled in the morning and I ate high protein low sugar/carb for breakfast. This time it’s not until 1pm so I’ll need to eat lunch too. They said to just eat normal but I don’t want to screw up the results. My test also isn’t until almost 30 weeks bc apparently this office sucks at scheduling so I hope that doesn’t affect anything either. 

GTKY: Who is your favorite TV / Movie mom and why? Beverly Goldberg, she cracks me up and clearly loves her kids though she takes it too far most of the time

How are you feeling: Tired. All the time. And huge. 

Rants / Raves:

I'm so frustrated with my in-laws (whined about it in the randoms) and unfortunately it's making some pretty decent waves in mine and DH's relationship. I'm just really really tired of them not respecting boundaries and using guilt trips against us. 

DD#1 made it to New York safely and is having a blast. They went the 9/11 museum this morning and I'm so jealous as I've always wanted to go. I asked her what she thought and she said it was really good but she couldn't stop crying. I'm like, I get it. I cry every time I see footage of it. 

Questions: Anyone else already aware of needing to have a c-section? Just curious. Hoping to get mine scheduled in a couple weeks when I next see my OB. 

GTKY: Who is your favorite TV / Movie mom and why? Frankie Heck from The Middle. I can identify with 99% of her character and the insanity of her life.

How are you feeling: Tired, but good - still hardcore nesting

Rants / Raves: Raves: I survived my work trip last week and was able to leave earlier than expected, so I made it home late Friday night instead of Saturday. DS1 and DS2 always wait up for me, and we have the tradition that I grab McD's in town on my way home. We sit around the table eating cheeseburgers and fries, and they update me on their lives while I was gone. DS1 was with grandparents this time, but DS2 and I still had our cheeseburgers and fries. Rants: I'm burning out on responsibilities. I've been hardcore nesting trying to get the already too small rental ready for another baby, and DH isn't doing the couple things I asked him to do. I really need some things taken off my plate, and it just isn't happening. I was slowly getting to this point, but I had 2 sick kids and DS1 home yesterday while I was trying to work, and it was a nightmare all day. I usually just let them watch tv, but they were so awful before that point I didn't want to reward them with tv time. So I just suffered lol.

@UnwritteN12 I laughed when I read your son wants a puppy. My boys would be completely on board with a puppy if they thought that was an option.

@varimama That is exciting your son passed their trial! I'm scheduled to take my glucose test in the afternoon, too, but I'm contemplating asking if I can do it some other time in the morning. I've also only ever done mine in the morning. I barely failed my 1 hour last time, and I'm worried the afternoon won't help that.

@ohsmith I'm sorry your brother-in-law is causing drama. That is really hard to navigate, especially when you live together.

Upcoming appointments: Just had an anatomy scan follow up yesterday and regular 24w appt today. Nothing else for 4 weeks!

How are you feeling: Still feeling so tired… had my OB check my thyroid levels today, so we will see if I need another dose adjustment there.

Rants / Raves: We just got back from a 2.5 week excursion to visit in-laws in Florida and Puerto Rico. It was so fun, but I’m so glad to be back in my own space.

GTKY: Who is your favorite TV / Movie mom and why? I’m really not a huge TV/movie person… but I guess I’ll say Claire from Modern Family because that show is one of my faves. 

@varimama I had mine in the afternoon last time. I did not eat lunch and I ended up getting so queasy and almost fainting. I had to stay longer at the OBs office until I recovered. I failed the 1 hour, but then passed the 3 hour… so don’t be like me and skip lunch. Definitely have something high protein before the test.

@UnwritteN12 I’m not for sure going to need a c-section again, but I did just schedule mine today at my appt anyway. My hospital is basically the only birthing hospital for the entire state, so it gets super busy and I’d rather have my preferred date/time on the books and cancel if not needed.

How are you feeling: mostly no complaints! Can definitely feel it at the end of a long, hot day when I've over done it though! Swollen feet and BH!

Rants / Raves: only 2 more weeks of summer til school starts and even though it's been a challenging summer, I'm still sad! I love having my kiddos home.

How are you feeling:

Well, as a first time dad at 50 I'm nervous. But excited. My better half is doing great. I'm in awe of her strength and determination.

Rants / Raves: Judgemental people who say we are too old at 50 and 49 and that we are selfish. Until such time as we ask for help babysitting or beg money for diapers or food or college fund, those  aholes should mind there business.

Questions: The 'will I be a good dad question keeps me awake most nights.

How are you feeling: relieved we made it to viability week after they have scared the daylights out of me with the AMA and gestational diabetes and everything else I’ve been dx’d with thus far.  

Rants / Raves: 

Rave - my boyfriend & DS got to feel baby move for the first time!!! 

Rave - VIABILITY WEEK! 

Rave - Benjamin is measuring right on point per the ultrasound… EFW is 1 lb 8 oz  

Rave - crib & mattress were purchased. I have a thing about being the one to buy it and boyfriend was unsure thinking it would “save us money”. I once it was delivered, we put it together and he feels so much better about it  

Rant - the air show is in town with the USAF Thunderbirds and I want to go but I’ve been back to feeling exhausted and achy and pukey the past 2 weeks. So, we aren’t going and I’m bummed.
