@fininevermore Im so sorry you didn’t get the expected news. Our first pregnancy went similarly at the first ultrasound- saw the gestational sacs, but no yolk sacs visible (we had twins), the gestational sacs were measuring 6w ish when I thought they’d be 8w. Said maybe they implanted later than we thought, and told us to come back in a week. We ended up with the blighted ovum news at the next scan. I felt so in the dark and naive and honestly it was the worst scan and continues to traumatize me now in my current pregnancy.
How regular are your cycles? If your cycles are irregular, there’s more variability in when implantation could have happened, throwing off the timeline. If your cycles are regular and you’re sure you’re 7w since last menstrual period, you might start preparing for bad news.
HCG levels themselves vary widely between pregnancies so the number alone won’t say much, but the repeat level is the important piece since you’ll expect to still see doubling at 7w pregnant. I know this is a lot to take in. This article helped me a lot after my miscarriages. I felt more prepared when approaching scans this pregnancy. Prepared but still terrified.
@ghanihk I’m usually very regular but my last cycle was my first after my miscarriage, so it may still be off. At least I hope that’s the case. Thanks. @farm_mama Thanks.
I know how scary this is-I lost my first and the doctor measured it smaller than we had originally calculated at 6 weeks when it was supposed to be 8 weeks. I miscarried soon after that. I really hope it doesn’t happen to you! Keep praying!
Thanks everyone. Unfortunately, a miscarriage was confirmed today. I’ll be talking to my doctor about next steps. Thank you all for your companionship and support, and I pray for all of you to have healthy, happy pregnancies and babies.
Just wanted to share that I had a miscarriage on 10/19 (18W 0D). I went to ER with abdominal pain that I thought was caused by gas/constipation, had an ultrasound where everything looked normal, and then gave birth as soon as I got home. We are devastated, but it’s important to me that people know my tiny Jadzia Ilaria lived, if only for a few minutes. She was perfect.
Thank you all for being such a lovely community! I wish you health and happiness during these next few months. ❤️❤️❤️
@jamzsquared I am so, so sorry your precious Jadzia couldn’t stay here with you earth-side. She has a beautiful name and I am sure she has a beautiful soul as well. I know there is nothing I can say that will take the pain away so I won’t try. This is so unfair and I hate that this happened to you.
Jamzsquared I am heartbroken by your loss. It's so unfair. Jadzia is a beautiful name and I too am glad that you got to meet her, even for just a few minutes. Sending all my love your way during this hardest of times 💓💓💓

We went for an ultrasound on Tuesday at 18 weeks 5 days to find out boy or girl and instead found out that our little one no longer had a heartbeat. Measuring smaller than it should be so probably happened a few weeks ago. We are going in for an induction this weekend. I'm discovering it's a much more involved process since we are in the second trimester and have a placenta. We are grieving and the kids are so sad, but handling it well overall. Definitely not what I thought I'd be doing this weekend and I'm reeling.
Hope all the rest of you ladies have happy and healthy pregnancies/babies. I know I wasn't the most involved, but I enjoyed being here with you the last couple months. ❤️
Oh mamacricket, I am so sorry for this. That's the worst kind of news. I hope you are able to take the time and space you need to grieve, rest and recover, and that you have good support. I will be thinking of you 💓💓💓

@mamacricket512 I am so so sorry to hear this. I hope your induction goes as smoothly as possible and that you will have a good support system as your family processes everything.
Mamacricket512 I’m so sorry. I hope your induction goes as well as can be expected and you have the space and support to grieve with your family. I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts.
I am just catching up and crying reading your news. So terribly sorry you both have had to experience this. The trauma and heartache 💔 thinking of you both in this terrible time.
