    @night_nurse congrats!!! I’m so glad ❤️
  • Gah. 🥹🥹🥹 Love these.

Due 3/9 and I think my first US will be about 8/18. Our OB doesn’t schedule the first appointment until 8 weeks and the first ultrasound until 3 weeks later. Waiting is so hard.
  • These are soo sweet to come back to! Love seeing all these healthy tinies!!
  • @mynameisoverused those little feet are so stinkin’ precious, omgoodness! 🥰
  • @justp3achy That’s awesome !! How lucky 🍀

@k_sims I’m reading on the Ramzi theory, but how the heck can you tell where your placenta is on the ultrasound? lol
  • haha! @mrscarolynb so you can Pinterest it and there’s tons of examples, you may be able to match your sono to one they have. (Again, obviously not 100% accurate 😆)
Sometimes the sono tech will tell you! They put me in suuper early this go, maybe bc i was high risk last time for having multiples? Idk. But my sono was when i was 6 weeks and they told me i ended up being 7, placenta wasn’t fully formed but they told me where the yolk sac was and that was the side placenta was forming.
  • @mrscarolynb based off your sono you posted it looks (to me) like yours is bottom right.
  • Omg!!!! I didn’t even see you post you were Pg with twinks!!!
Congrats, mama! I was also 9 wks when my twins were confirmed and I’ll never forget that moment. Shock, happiness, fear. 😆🥹 how special!

A book i read and loved was - when you’re expecting twins, triplets, or quads

  • @k_sims Thank you! The shock is very real 😳 I will add that book to my list 📚 Any other recommendations or advice is very welcome 🙏

  • No pic, but measuring at 7 or 7+1, by my count I’m 7+1, and heartbeat of 132!
  • I have gone for 2 ultrasounds so far. After the first they said due to the size of the smaller sac they didn’t think it would make it and they explained I wouldn’t see it on the next US (vanishing twin syndrome). But then the second us and we were all pretty surprised there was still 2. I go back in a week. I don’t like not knowing what will happen but I’m trying not to stress. Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation?

Love all these ultrasound pics! I’m at 8+5 and can’t wait until mine on Thursday, this has to the longest wait ever!
  • Aww, Ann! Congrats on your twins! I’ll be keeping you in prayers for peace of whatever the outcome!!
  • @ann_3 I just found out I'm having twins too! One of the sacs was smaller for me too, but no one said anything about being worried, so hopefully all is good 🤞 for both of us!

  • Congrats, Journey721!
What type of twins are you having? ID/frat?
    And which kind? Di/di, mono/di, mono/mono?

    So exciting!!!
  • Paperwork says “dizygotic twins”. She said fraternal, assuming that means that lol I’m still processing it. 🫠

@journey721 Dizygotic just means that two different sperm fertilized two of your eggs, can be same or opposite sex.

Monozygotic are usually same sex as they come from same fertilized egg.

Di/Di- Diamniotic dichorionic are safest high risk as they have their own chorionic and amniotic sacs - each have their own placenta and sac. They grow at a normal singleton rate just more cramped since there’s two, but you don’t ever have to worry about twin to twin transfusion, where one is taking more of the nutrients/ blood supply, since they each have their own placenta. (Fraternal)

Mo/di— monochorionic diamniotic twins share a placenta but not the same amniotic sac (usually Identical)

mono/mono - monochorionic monoamniotic twins share the same placenta and amniotic sac. Usually most risky! (identical)

Idk if you’ve read this yet, but before being a twin mom i thought being identical is where you look identical and fraternal meant they looked different, but fraternal twins can also look identical.

Something sweet is by 14 weeks they start interacting with eachother in the womb. And 40% of twins usually develop some weird twin lingo later on.🤪

there is an NIPT test called natera panorama and it can do the chromosome tests as well as gender for twins! They had me do that one instead of their usual one and it picks up dna from both! It got our gender accurate and you can find out early (if this matters to you or not).

The shock is SO REAL, but you’re blessed double! Congratulations!! 💓 my twins are 5 now!

A book i heard about and read early on was:
When you’re expecting twins, triplets, and multiples
so much good info, even just to know, whether you do what it says or not. Knowledge is power and the more i knew about them the less anxious i felt / more in control i felt.
  • I will ask about panorama- she gave me a script for the Qnatal Advanced. I think since these are babies 4&5, I’m feeling stressed vs blessed 😆 i am sure i will be more excited once the testing is done and i know they are healthy 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
  • i felt the same way!! It’s a lot! Try to live in the moment, i walked through that season with so much anxiety waiting for the next “bad thing” bc you mostly hear of stuff like that when it comes to multiples. We were very blessed to have a long healthy pregnancy, and I’m wishing the same for you & @hedgepig!!
