Pregnancy and Constipation HELP

Hey ladies ! I have been struggling with constipation throughout my pregnancy. Have had to take suppositories a few times. Colace. And now i am taking restoralax daily.
I am wondering if any of you have experienced constipation like this throughout your pregnancy. Did anyone have to take restoralax (or another nme brand like it) daily throughout their pregnancy and if you were able to go normally after pregnancy? Im worried about dependancy but doctor says its safe.

Hello! I’ve been lucky to avoid all the constipation ordeal throughout my two pregnancies and in between. Soon after I found out I was pregnant with my first, I attended a class with a midwife and she suggested to take Magnesium supplements if we suffered from headache. She said Magnesium would help us prevent some of these headache symptoms, and because I do get headaches often and being pregnant can’t take ibuprofen, I immediately started taking a magnesium supplement with my prenatal vitamin daily. I swear with in a couple of days maybe a week or two, I started to notice I would have a daily bowel movement with no trouble. I really didn’t know what was helping until a couple of weeks later as I came across a magnesium article regarding constipation and it’s benefits. I would suggest to start a daily supplement of magnesium. I’m m currently taking half of the daily recommended because that’s what works for me. FYI this is not like a stool softener, you have to be consistent and it will help over time. I never stopped taking the supplement after birth. It’s worked miracles for me. I hope this helps. I have experienced this as well, not as much with my first pregnancy. I have been using Benefiber daily and it has helped. It uses plant based fiber to get things going. This plus making sure I have enough water and incorporate fruits and vegetables have helped me. Hope this helps.
