8 week scan excitement

Hello ladies! 

We had our first ultrasound yesterday. I was 8 weeks 2 days from my LMP. There are 2 sacs that are measuring at 6 weeks and the other at  5 weeks, 3 days. There were no visible babies in either sac but my doctor seemed pretty optimistic that they are just too small right now and scheduled me for another ultrasound April 10th to see if anything has progressed. She sent me for lab work yesterday to get a baseline on my pregnancy hormone levels and I will get more blood work tomorrow to see if those levels have increased or decreased. I’m just wondering if this has happened to anyone else here? A google search definitely showed it’s possible and that you can see a baby and heartbeat a little further out, but wondering if anyone has experienced this first-hand and what the outcome was? My husband and I are trying to remain optimistic and hope for the best. We have only been married a couple months and we planned to have a baby right away so we are pretty ecstatic at the possibility of twins!
