Upcoming Appointments: Midwife control appt on thursday.
How are you feeling?: Tired, not sleeping much. Recovering from bronchitis, which I can't recommend this stage of pregnancy. Otherwise good. Even playing a bit of tennis again! Pregnancy leave has been good for me.
Rants/Raves: Rant: In my FB due month group there has been a couple stories these last few days about people calling - in active labour - into the hospital that I am supposed to give birth in. Only to be redirected to other hospitals (much further away) as they did not have space. This is stressing me out somewhat... Rave: I'm kind of ready now, practically. Everything bought. Hospital bag packed, car seat installed. Freezer filled with a months worth of home cooked meals. Still need to wash bed linen and assemble the changing station and minor stuff like that, but overall we are ready 😍
Questions: Nah.
GTKY: If you were a dog, what breed do you think you’d be? Great question! Totally a border collie here!
Upcoming Appointments: my home visit with the midwife is today.
How are you feeling?: Rough. I think all the miscarriages and pregnancy really took a toll on my body. My gallbladder is hurting more constantly and I'm a little freaked out by a dangerous "low grade" bacterial infection I realized I have when I decided to google my test results. I'm just really hoping things will get better after delivery and I can finally heal from all my issues. It's going to take time and a lot of expensive healthy food and supplements. I'm trusting God with it though.
Rants/Raves:
Rave: I actually got great sleep last night because my husband rubbed my back and prayed for me and gave me a pep talk about all the things I'm going through and encouraged me to listen to my hypnobirth tracks again.
Questions: natm
GTKY: If you were a dog, what breed do you think you’d be? An Italian waterdog like mine...but a male so I could breed her and make enough money to buy a new van. That came out a bit creepy sounding but we need a new van. 😆
How are you feeling?: Fatigue, anxiety, diarrhea, back pain, and annoyed at everyone! Ugh.
Rants/Raves: My 3yo daughters bday is today! Hoping to have good energy to make it a special day.
Questions: I tested positive for Strep Group B, but I was negative with my first birth. Anyone have experience with needing to have antibiotics during labor?
GTKY: If you were a dog, what breed do you think you’d be? I feel like a grumpy cat right now haha. I usually have much more energy. Maybe a golden doodle?
@justkp hopefully when baby is ready to make his appearance the hospital has room again. I know how stressful it can be to not know what hospital you will deliver in. I think mine is finally figured out but still not 100% sure. Keeping you in my thoughts!
@lucygracelaluz2020 Happy Birthday to your daughter!! I'm sure it will be a special day.

How are you feeling?: A little sore. Had our baby shower yesterday and may have over did it a little.
Rants/Raves: Rave - I am so overwhelmed by the love and support we got yesterday. I was a little stressed out about how everything was going to go but I think overall it was a great day.
Questions: None
GTKY: If you were a dog, what breed do you think you’d be? Lately I feel like an English Bulldog. All I want to is lay around when I'm at home. I don't have the wrinkles but I do have the extra lbs lol
Baby is the size of a(n): will be the size of mini watermelon- one of my favorites
Team blue/pink/green: 💙
Upcoming Appointments: today for an NST and Thursday for doc checkin and NST
How are you feeling?: tired, getting cramps, less mobile with each passing day. Otherwise, great!
Rants/Raves: rave - not sure if I posted about this already, but I had my checkin last week and the doctor confirmed that so long as everything is looking good for baby that waiting for natural birth to happen shouldn’t really be a problem. He also confirmed that the hospital I’m at has a very conservative viewpoint, hence the overly concerned c-section scheduling. As he said, having the baby naturally would be a lot easier for me to heal from (typically), so I’m hoping we keep on this safe and healthy path. If anything looks weird for baby in his scans, I’ll definitely jump on the c-section, of course! But if I’m only a few days past my due date, I’m going to pray all goes well and induces naturally.
Rant- still dealing with job applications and interviews and I’m all over the place, just insane. This is such a crazy time to be job hunting in general, let alone be pregnant and somewhat job hunting. I just feel I owe it to my family since my husband is also loosing his mind on the task of job hunting. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers for this ❤️ I never thought this would drag out to the point of baby’s arrival. Insane!!
Questions: natm
GTKY: If you were a dog, what breed do you think you’d be? Since I’ve had two smaller breed dogs in my adult life, I think I’d much rather be a cool and collected bigger breed dog, probably on the older and wiser side, too. While super smart, our two smaller breeds have been so delusional and crazy. Next dog for us will probably be a golden retriever or something overall safer and more calm.
@cpk3535 that's really good news about your doctor and hospital. Were you on time for your other births? I can't believe you're job hunting right now! You're pretty hardcore. Hopefully something comes along for one of you soon.
@seeds_of_joy both girls came in week 40, and as the doc said, these numbers are kind of soft estimates anyway. He said if fluids and NSTs look good, it really shouldn’t be a problem. The funny part was I think they were actually going to move my due date back after an earlier ultrasound anyway, which would have bought me about 4-5 more days to wait, lol! And yes, the job stuff is nuts, but unfortunately can’t be avoided. Such a frustrating time to try to get a job anyway. People are incredibly demanding on what experience they want on your resume, and I feel like I’m competing against hundreds (sometimes over 1000) for nearly every job I apply for. The most promising job I had on the radar cancelled on me after 4 rounds of interviews, assignments and two months of time. It’s psycho!!
Upcoming Appointments: Thursday for a regular check up
How are you feeling?: my low back is killing me and even though I slept in super late I’m still so tired. I’m trying to get my 4 year old out of the house and away from TV since I know that’s all we’ll be doing soon, but it’s exhausting.
Rants/Raves: Rant is how I’m feeling. Rave is we’re so close!
Questions: I had one and totally forgot
GTKY: If you were a dog, what breed do you think you’d be?
I don’t even know why I asked this question. I’m not a dog person 🤣 I had a German short haired pointer who was waaaaaay too crazy for me. I’d be some chill dog as far as personality goes. But I don’t even know my dog breeds to make a comparison.
Baby is the size of a(n): Mini watermelon 🍉 or a bowling pin 🎳
Team blue/pink/green: Blue 💙
Upcoming Appointments: I’ll be going in for my induction on the evening of February 1st
How are you feeling?: Emotionally unstable! All of my anxiety from the first 12 weeks has suddenly resurfaced. I’m upset that the membrane sweep didn’t work, because I fear that it will be too difficult to go medication free during an induction. Also, similar to others, I’m somehow annoyed with everyone and am tired of answering questions like “are you excited?”, “how are you doing?”, and “will you send a baby bump picture?”. Honestly, I don’t feel like talking to anyone but my husband until after the birth. I know I’m being ridiculous though.
Rants: I still can’t really tell what labor signs are and am sad my membrane sweep didn’t work. Yesterday, I experienced what I think was the “bloody show”, which was way more blood than I was expecting (think heavy period blood). Luckily, it was just a one time thing, but I have been spotting dark brown blood since then, which is probably from the sweep. The doctor said it was only a concern if heavy bleeding continued. Unlike the mucus plug, which can come out weeks before labor, I read that labor usually comes days after the bloody show, but I don’t want to get my hopes up again.
Rave: I’m on maternity leave now. It’s hard to know what to do. I tend to constantly clean the house, but I’m trying to relax a bit more.
Questions: Natm
GTKY: If you were a dog, what breed do you think you’d be? To avoid thinking, I asked my husband. Lol. He said I’d be a pug for the following reasons: I’m not big, so I’d be a small dog, but not a yippy dog overcompensating for my size. I have breathing issues (and my snoring has picked up a ton over the past couple of weeks). I’d be a loyal dog. 🤷🏻♀️🤣
@karbaud I don't know if this helps, but even though the membrane sweep didn't bring labor immediately, I do think that it brought you closer! Especially with the bloody show happening. I hope that is encouraging. Also, I love how much though your husband put in the answer about what dog you'd be haha!
@karbaud I’m also tired of answering the questions! One particular relative texts or FaceTimes daily asking how I’m doing. If I were in labor, you’d know lady!
@justkp So happy to hear you are able to play some tennis! I just stopped last Monday after my last class. My hips and low back were so sore! I took that as a sign to stop.
@seeds_of_joy I hope you can find moments of reprieve and self- compassion with all the challenges that you are managing with.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 2/24 36 weeks + 3 days
Baby is the size of a(n): Papaya
Team blue/pink/green: 💚
Upcoming Appointments: BPP today. NST/ Midwife appointment on Thursday.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good this past week. I’m emotionally at peace with where we are at in being prepared with the arrival of our baby. Physically, the discomforts have been manageable and I got a good night sleep last night. Plus my blood sugar has been looking amazing to the point where I can stop taking my evening medication. And my baby remains quite active which makes me feel reassured that it’s healthy.
Rants/Raves:
Rave: I finished making 4 more mobiles that follow the Montessori method. They were so much fun to make! Also, my husband finally put up the curtain rods in the baby’s nursery and I can finally work on hemming the sage green blackout curtains I purchased months ago.
Questions: Natm
GTKY: If you were a dog, what breed do you think you’d be? I don’t think I know enough about dogs and breeds to answer this question! 😂 But I promised my husband that one day we will get a dog to join our family. I just want to start our human family first. We like the Portuguese Water Dog.
Baby is the size of a(n): He measured 7lbs 16oz in a growth scan today. If that’s accurate, he’s already bigger than my daughter was at 39w5d when she was born
Team blue/pink/green: 💙
Upcoming Appointments: I had appts today but the next is induction on Monday 2/6
How are you feeling?: overall good. Definitely crampy and anxiously awaiting his arrival but in a generally good place. I am a bit edgier mood wise and definitely struggling with sleep.
Rants/Raves: I was dilated 3cm today and 70% effaced so I’m really hoping he comes on his own before induction day. I know it doesn’t necessarily mean anything but it was a pleasant surprise. I almost skipped the check but decided to mentally prepare for induction and what their plan of action would be if nothing changed from today.
Questions: none currently
GTKY: If you were a dog, what breed do you think you’d be? Maybe a lab? I have no clue. I’m not as social as a lab though but I was thinking more about the loyalty and the time they like to spend outside and with their people.
@justkp hopefully the hospital won’t be full when you go into labor! That would be super frustrating.
@lucygracelaluz2020 I tested positive for gbs the first time and this time. I was super annoyed and disappointed to have a positive again but I was still able to move around in labor with my first getting the antibiotics during labor.
@karbaud I am so sorry the membrane sweep hasn’t done the trick yet but hopefully you’ll see some signs soon and your little one will come before induction 🤞🏻
I’m also with you on the people asking questions thing. I only talk to my husband and basically just set the boundaries with everyone else because I don’t want to share all the details and I’m just kinda edgy currently and want to be left alone 🤣
@karbaud you're not being ridiculous! For me personally my bloody show and mucus plug always came out the day I went into labor. I'm sure others are different and the membrane sweep might effect that.
Baby is the size of a(n): who knows at this point. Ready to come out though hopefully 😆
Team blue/pink/green: green!
Upcoming Appointments: I had one this morning. They offered a cervical check but I declined. Hoping I make it to my scheduled c section on 2/8.
How are you feeling?: not sure I can make it until 2/8 but trying to dig deep. I am super swollen, nauseous, and can barely move.
Rants/Raves: I don’t know if this is a rant or rave but finally made a decision to get my tubes removed when they do my c section. I’m done having kids and I’m over hormonal birth control and my husband won’t commit to doing anything. I feel at peace with the decision.
Rant is that I just found out my mother in law thinks now is a great time to come stay with us because she has a funeral to go to on Friday. Ugh I can’t with her. She also was asking about how many visitors I can have at the hospital. If she’s asking I would say none lol. With my second I didn’t have to worry because I was not allowed visitors. If you can’t tell we don’t have the best relationship.
Questions: none
GTKY: If you were a dog, what breed do you think you’d be? Haha we actually had this conversation at work and I can’t remember what they actually said I would be.
@karbaud sorry things have been tough emotionally. The baby will be here before you know it. I never recognized labor signs with my other two. 🤷🏻♀️ also I’ve been snoring up a storm lately 😂
@itsjess627 wishing you a smooth delivery. It sounds like our babies are measuring similarly. My other babies were all small so I’d be shocked if baby was as big as measured. Guess we’ll see!!
@cpk3535 will definitely keep you in my thoughts. Job searching is so stressful. Hope you guys get resolution soon!
@itsjess627 I don’t remember any measurements from my previous pregnancy. But the measurements this time line up with how big my last was so I’m assuming they’re pretty accurate 🤷🏻♀️
No signs of labor whatsoever prior to my commute to work. Started having contractions and I’m 5 cm dilated and waiting in l&d for my c section. 😮 had to drive 45 minutes home with contractions every 5 minutes so that was fun🥴
Wow, @angbaby83! And you had just commented that there weren’t labor signs for your previous two. That sounds crazy. I’m also wishing you a smooth delivery and quick recovery.
@angbaby83 Wow, you are strong! driving with contractions! Wishing you a successful procedure, a beautiful delivery with a healthy baby, and a speedy recovery!
@cpk3535 I'm so happy for you that they are happy to let you wait for spontaneous labour! That's great news; hope the scans all continue to look good. And sending commiserations on the job hunting - that sounds truly horrific.
@itsjess627 Keeping my fingers crossed that he decides to come before Monday for you!
EDD / Weeks + Days: 38 weeks, due 2/16
Baby is the size of a(n): winter melon (or small newborn like KP said )

Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow is my 38 week apt with the MW which should be my last one
How are you feeling?: I'm feeling okay. I've had some pelvic pain and my indigestion is still terrible but it's okay. Unfortunately I've done something to my left trapezius and I am finding it really uncomfortable to sleep sometimes and it's currently hurting just while I'm sitting. I am going to see if I can get myself a cheeky prenatal massage before this bambino arrives.
Rants/Raves: Rave - I'm almost done with work! I teach tonight and I teach on Monday night and realistically, that's it. I am ready to be focussing on baby's arrival now Rant - they don't want me to go past my due date bc I'm old and his size has been decreasing over time (though he's still measuring on the 42nd percentile and appears currently bigger than my older two were at birth). I need to decide if I am going to schedule an induction for my due date when I meet with the MW tomorrow and I'm feeling very conflicted. Both my older two were born in the 39th week so I'm really hoping it's a moot point but wish I could just be waiting patiently for him to come on his own. I may get a membrane sweep tomorrow at my appointment but will discuss things with the MW then.
Questions: Anyone done a membrane sweep? I haven't before and not sure what to expect.
GTKY: If you were a dog, what breed do you think you’d be? This is hard! I'd be whatever dog is most cat-like 😂 I used to have a Sheltie and she was pretty cool so I'll just go with that. Good for hiking and being out and about but not needy about it.
I had a membrane sweep with my first. I had already passed the due date and had contractions the night before. I had more regular contractions that night and had my baby several hours later. The membrane sweep felt a bit uncomfortable but reminded me of a pap smear.
@lucygracelaluz2020 Yay, due date buddies! Thanks for sharing your experience! I wonder if it sped things up at all since you were already having contractions. Normally I'd be inclined to wait it out but the potential looming induction makes me more willing to consider the sweep.
Baby is the size of a(n): measuring just about 7lbs 😅

Upcoming Appointments: appt yesterday. Scheduled my C-section for February 14!! 💗
How are you feeling?: not too bad. Lower back and hip pain, not swelling too badly especially compared to my first pregnancy…that was insane. Excited that we are super close now, but a little nervous to be having a little girl…we have a 2 1/2 year old boy. I know boy life so this will be a change!
Rants/Raves: Rant: MIL asked if I would host FIL birthday dinner at my house 2 days before I am to deliver my baby!!! What is she thinking!? I’m not cooking and cleaning up after 10 plus people!!! Rave: super excited to have a planned date for our baby girl..and that it’s on Valentine’s Day 💗
Update from today’s appointment- my high risk, super conservative doc seems uncomfortable with my desire to wait for natural labor versus a c-section, but I’m still pushing for that. Today I was at 38W2D, no contractions, not dilated at all, which is totally normal for me. In addition to the NST she had me scheduled for already, she said I wasn’t measuring as large externally and made me go get a full ultrasound right away. Long story short, everything for baby was measuring fine, fluids actually look better than they estimated on the small ultrasound machines, NST was great, she confirmed baby was looking perfectly healthy and guesstimated weight of about 7lbs 7oz. If that’s true, he’s already the biggest baby I’ve ever delivered. I’m going to keep checking on him as much as possible and if there’s any risk of anything dangerous happening to him or me, we’ll just go with the c-section. But if we’re still rolling along like champs, why not wait the extra 2-3 days and let him come on his own?
@cpk3535 it sounds like the baby is doing great! I would ask the MFM what the absolute risks percentages are for concerns and complications that they see. A lot of the times, they make decisions on relative risks (which is what gives us the high risk label in the first place) and not necessarily for the absolute risks.
If there is one frustration that regularly triggers me with my pregnancy journey with 3 high risk labels, it’s when a clinician just looks at you like a liability and not look at the whole clinical picture with you as an individual human being. It ticks me off every single time. There are risks to everything in life including when we drive our cars on the road everyday. The question is, what is your risk tolerance? I find that the ob world has a very low risk tolerance in general. They want to bring the liability down to zero which is just not realistic in life ever.
Y’all I’m super frustrated, I was told I was going to be called today for my induction time tomorrow and when I called they said they’ll call tomorrow afternoon and if I don’t hear from them by 7:30pm then I need to call 😭 as much as I don’t want to be induced I’d at least like to be able to plan and know what’s happening.

EDD / Weeks + Days: 38 weeks tomorrow
@itsjess627 wishing you a smooth delivery. It sounds like our babies are measuring similarly. My other babies were all small so I’d be shocked if baby was as big as measured. Guess we’ll see!!
@seeds_of_joy Yay for a good night's sleep but boo for feeling so uncomfortable.
@lucygracelaluz2020 Happy birthday to your daughter and LOL at Grumpy Cat - I am right there with you.
@kamays54 Glad you enjoyed your baby shower!
@cpk3535 I'm so happy for you that they are happy to let you wait for spontaneous labour! That's great news; hope the scans all continue to look good. And sending commiserations on the job hunting - that sounds truly horrific.
@amccurls You're so close!
@karbaud I hope that all is going well with your induction!!
@ttc3y Your mobiles look amazing!
@itsjess627 Keeping my fingers crossed that he decides to come before Monday for you!
EDD / Weeks + Days: 38 weeks, due 2/16
Baby is the size of a(n): winter melon (or small newborn like KP said )
Team blue/pink/green: Blue
Baby is the size of a(n): measuring just about 7lbs 😅
Team blue/pink/green: Pink
Rave: super excited to have a planned date for our baby girl..and that it’s on Valentine’s Day 💗
If there is one frustration that regularly triggers me with my pregnancy journey with 3 high risk labels, it’s when a clinician just looks at you like a liability and not look at the whole clinical picture with you as an individual human being. It ticks me off every single time. There are risks to everything in life including when we drive our cars on the road everyday. The question is, what is your risk tolerance? I find that the ob world has a very low risk tolerance in general. They want to bring the liability down to zero which is just not realistic in life ever.
